Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

To perform legal services to UDC and carry out all legal responsibilities regarding corporate, construction and engineering agreements an all other commercial documents.

To organize, conduct and handle disputes resolutions and deliver the highest quality of legal assistance to the Head of Legal and the Executive Management, in order to curb and eliminate any negative impact of litigation and resolve disputes efficiently, swiftly and in a highly professional manner.

Assist in negotiating, drafting, interpreting and provide legal consultancy and advice with special concentration on UDC corporate, construction & engineering contracts.

Assist in investigations, and legally advice UDC regarding legal disputes & claims

Carry out other relevant tasks assigned by Head of Legal

Identify risk areas in UDC corporate, construction & engineering contracts

Review reports and determines risk factors to safeguard the interests of UDC

Attending mediation & settlement discussions and drafting and reviewing settlement agreements

Requirements

•A minimum 7 years working as a practicing lawyer – 5 years in Engineering & Construction field

•Excellent knowledge and understanding of the relevant local laws, legislations and procedures

•Sound legal judgment

•Experience in legislative and commercial drafting

•Strong preference for a bilingual both in written and spoken English and Arabic

•Has advised on multi-million deals and participated in arbitration/litigation on similar deals.

•Work experience in GCC countries desirable

•Demonstrated superior judgment and analytical capabilities, including research skills, ability to interpret data, ability to conceptualize, and ability to analyze information.

•Demonstrated leadership skills at the level required from a senior lawyer, including strategic thinking/planning, goal setting, performance assessment, collaboration and complex decision making skills.
