Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

POSITION PURPOSE
To plan, organise and direct the Construction Station team to deliver the project safely, on time and to the quality standards of the client. The role demands a strong focus on leadership and interaction with Contractor personnel to achieve required outcomes of the work group and the promotion of high performance standards.

- Architectural Supervisor
- MEP Supervisor

ACCOUNTABILITIES

EXPECTED OUTCOMES
- Safety, Health & Environment Management
- Contribute towards a culture of “Safety and Health above all else” and environmental responsibility by
- Strict compliance with health, safety and other procedures
- Implementing SH&E policy, procedures and legislative requirements
- Monitoring SH&E performance within area of responsibility
- Demonstrating commitment to SH&E through, personal example, leadership and participation in monitoring of established working practices
- Ensuring all staff and contractors are appropriately trained and inducted into SH&E standards and comply with SH&E procedures
- All staff and contractors within area of responsibility comply with SH&E standards and procedures.

Project Management & Delivery
- Deliver safe projects to achieve client and corporate objectives, including:
- Ensuring contractual obligations are identified and understood
- Identifying, assessing and managing business, community and environmental risks
- Ensuring project controls and reporting responsibilities are put in place
- Maintaining clear communication with key stakeholders on a daily basis
- Project delivered safely, on time and to the quality standard required
- Project delivery risks minimised;
- Daily coordination with contractors
- Client / stakeholder satisfaction with output.

Governance / Standards
- Understand and ensure project complies with regulatory, governance and community requirements by keeping abreast of government and regulatory obligations, taking appropriate actions and supporting the implementation of preventative strategies
- Project compliance with client policies, practices and processes
- Project complies with all regulation requirements

Planning and Controls
- Develop and deliver against project goals and objectives including:
- Preparing management plans and milestones, ensuring project delivery in optimal time
- Conducting regular reviews against plan and taking corrective actions as required
- Ensuring accuracy and timeliness of Progress reports
- Optimising resources to meet constraints of the project
- Project goals and objectives developed and agreed with CM
- Project goals and objectives achieved.

Business Relationships
- Build and maintain productive internal and external relationships to facilitate the delivery of the project through:
- Creating and maintaining strong relationships with the client, contractors and other key stakeholders
- Satisfying obligations under the contract
- Relevant stakeholders express satisfaction with relationships and project outputs;

Reporting & Records
- Ensure robust reporting frameworks are established and maintained to assist decision making, including
- Reporting through agreed reporting lines on project progress
- Measuring and reporting on progress against project plan
- Reports are complete, accurate and relevant
- Adequate information in report(s) for effective decision making

People Management
- Lead and develop an effective and productive team, including:
- Managing the work performance of self, direct reports and influencing contractor performance
- Ensuring role clarity, including responsibilities and reporting lines, exists for team members
- Identifying resource and skill gaps and developing strategies to bridge gaps
- Developing operational flexibilities within and between team members
- Encouraging an environment of sharing knowledge and ideas to ensure continuous improvement within the team
- Self and team members deliver on outputs consistently
- Team members report satisfaction with development opportunities
- Peers and team members report behaviours are aligned

Requirements

Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree

Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years building/ rail / airport construction experience

Competencies:
- Has the ability to supervise and guide staff,
- Is willing to share their knowledge & experience with others, and encourage others to do the same
- Has a client focus - is able to build and maintain effective relationships with people, listens to what the client is saying and act accordingly
- Is good at thinking on their feet and problem solving
