Job description / Role
Qualified professional who can manage and coordinate specialised activity or discipline of complexity. Assists in the formulation of advanced technical concepts.
The right candidate will provide specialist services in support of project requirements.
Independently performs highly complex professional assignments demanding contributions calling for the application of specialised principles.
Candidate must be competent against MEP systems. Prove they can understand a program to a technical level and individual systems that they will be involved in validating from design to handover.
• Applies quality management approaches to ensure design and spec are met.
• Inspection test plan to be managed and make sure that the contractor follows the requirements. Experience in this area needed but does not need the right candidate to be a quality manager level candidate with certification in Quality processes.
• Manage quality procedures and processes.
• Works within the quality management plan.
• Know about site based safety procedures. Moving machinery, electrical isolation knowledge is important to have experience of/working knowledge.
• Management of safety of self/team and other 3rd parties such as contractors.
• Monitoring risk assessments and making sure they are complied to.
• Following site safety plans and safety procedures.
• CSA qualified is a good indicator/sign of their knowledge.
• ASHRAE desirable. Membership to a relevant organisation would be desirable.
• Skilled at documentation of their work. Reviewing of contractor works/documents. Can show examples of where they have audited other works by 3rd parties. From commissioning backwards. Not an auditor but a person who knows the process. A lot of back testing is done and these skills/knowledge would make the candidate have a higher chance of success.
• Desirable to have experience Testing & Commissioning of Kahramma and Qatar Civil Defence standards. NFPA experience/exposure is ok.
• LEED qualified or to have experience in this.
Requirements
• BIM desirable
• Aconex or similar software systems experience is good to have
• MS Office proficiency is required.
• Primavera desirable
• AutoCAD knowledge or Microstation knowledge. Overall knowledge is needed, not to be a heavy technical user of the system.
• Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering field.
• 15 years experience overall (This must be substantial and relevant).
• Self starter, able to look after team members in the sense of leading people. Managing across 3rd parties employees if need be.
• Candidate must be able to provide examples to show how they have overcome problems in the past.
Functional: Problem-solving capability is the most key attribute. Infrastructure projects. Civil Defense infrastructure works experience to be strong.
Mechanical candidate – speciality = familiar with HVAC, air plant, air systems, plumbing and drainage systems. Chill water systems, pumps, Air Chill experience.
Proven track record of working Middle East is a desirable attribute.
