Title:
BIM & Visualization Technician

The BIM and Visualisation Technician plays a crucial role in the successful execution of a portfolio of Programmes, Mega Projects and Projects. They execute multiple aspects of BIM, visualisation and graphics design delivery, ensuring effective communication of a large volume of information and data. The BIM and Visualisation Technician will be a visual communicator with an eye for creativity. They will be able to create models, maps, drawings and concepts by using a wide range of Microsoft and specialised graphic design software, using images, words, and graphics. By continuously communicating with Teammates, the Client Team and Programme stakeholders, they will ensure that their designs meticulously reflect desired messages and information. This role falls under the Construction Logistics function, requiring the successful candidate to have previous infrastructure modelling and 4D simulation experience through Civil 3D, Infraworks, Navisworks and Synchro BIM tools. The role also requires an understanding of Project Management principles and a knowledge of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) processes. The unique construct of the KBR delivery environment focusses the need for an ability to collaborate with a wide range of key stakeholders at Client, Programme, Project and Supply Chain levels.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the project team to produce 3D information models and drawings with minimal supervision.
- Coordinate design changes and model changes with other functions/disciplines.
- Undertake modelling tasks related to infrastructure and logistics.
- Undertake BIM clash detection, coordination, and resolution.
- Preparation of 4D simulation models and visualisation linked to project schedules.
- Produce PowerPoint presentations and occasionally prepare / manage Excel files used for producing the function's deliverables.

Requirements

Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of BIM principles, industry standards and best modelling practices.
- Knowledge of operational aspects of civil & infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, and utilities with experience in construction management and practice.
- Familiarity with internationally recognized classification systems (e.g., Uniclass, Uniformat).
- Knowledge of COBie specification and ability to export files from models.
- Familiarity with the IFC open BIM standard.
- Knowledge of international BIM Standards like ISO 19650 and related standards.
- Advanced skills in software supporting the creation, analysis (including clash detection and coordination), simulation e.g., Autodesk Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, Infraworks and Synchro.
- Ability to use 3D visualization tools such as Twinmotion, Lumion, or Enscape would be preferable.
- Undertake self-assessment of procedural compliance and sharing lessons learnt, and best practice within the Project Controls community.
- A demonstrable ability to implement, manage and control best-in-class solutions, processes and delivery within the Project Controls capability.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate Project risks and capitalise on Project opportunities.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity and ability to manage multiple projects and large groups of stakeholders simultaneously.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant industry standards, regulations and best practice.

Experience / Skills
- Essential: Degree (BSc, BA, BEng) level professional qualification in Engineering, Construction, Architecture disciplines, or equivalent experience.
- Essential: A minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience with a proven a track record of successfully delivering BIM and Visualisation capabilities within complex and high value Programmes, Mega Projects and Projects.
- Essential: A high standard of spoken and written English.
- Essential: A commitment to future learning and education in industry innovation, development and change with a demonstrable recent record of Continued Professional Development (CPD).
- Desired: A minimum of 3 years of relevant Middle East experience working with diverse Teams and people.
- Desired: Membership of a role appropriate cognate Professional Institute or recognised certificates of Learning and Competence.
- Desired: Arabic language skills.
