We are now recruiting for a Buyer - Procurement/Sourcing (Industrial Field) to join our team in Jazan Construction Site - Saudi Arabia

This position is accountable for operational buying across business units within the Saudi Arabia. These operational procurement activities include the sourcing/buying of contractor services and higher value commodities required for daily maintenance activities, planned and unplanned outages, and general facility services in support of multiple plants and pipeline operations. Operational buying is required when the source of supply has not been pre-determined through existing supply agreements, when the opportunity exists to negotiate more favourable pricing and/or commercial terms, and when competitive bidding is required.

The position interfaces regularly with requisitioners, maintenance and turnaround supervisors, planners, and schedulers, contractors/vendors, the material specifying community and other procurement personnel. The position also interfaces with support functions such as safety, environmental, risk, and disbursements.

Responsibilities and reoccurring activities include:
- Purchase order execution as a buyer in SAP
- Conducting bid events utilizing the sourcing tool
- Development and implementation of regional agreements
- Support of regional, national and global agreements
- Ability to flex when needed and support other regional buyers
- Order administration, problem resolution, supplier complaint resolution
- Discrepancy resolution for purchase order payments
- Preliminary contractor/supplier qualification
- Contractor management as required by procurement operations
- Multi-tasking in a fast paced environment, position manages multiple, competing priorities
- Negotiations with contractors/vendors and internal clients
- Development of report to recap accomplishments and document planned activities
- After hour coverage to respond to occasional plant emergencies
- Occasional travel within Saudi Arabia (overnight stay not normally required)

Requirements

- A BS/BA degree from an accredited college is required.
- Candidates must also have 3-5 years industrial field buying experience focused on the procurement of contractor services for light construction and maintenance activities and possess a detailed knowledge of the procurement function combined with "work process" knowledge around requisitioning, buying, receiving, and disbursements.
- Technical background / experience a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of sourcing / procurement work processes
- Ability to evaluate information and data, identify cost reduction opportunities, prioritize and implement
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Competency in using the Microsoft Office suite of products
- Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment
- Must be comfortable with computers and SAP, both are used extensively on a daily basis
- Self-motivated contributor with the ability to work independently through managed objectives and the ability to work in a small "team" environment.

- Working Hours

6 days/ week, 10hrs/day on site, excluding travel time between accommodation and site. Friday is
Weekend’.

The base will be a secure Camp Ground 5km from the ASU site within the perimeter of Jazan Economic City, with safe, modern and comfortable leisure and living facilities
