Civils Director

Job description / Role

Ignite Selection have an opportunity for a Director of Civil engineering to work for a leading EPC.

You will be responsible for the operations and management of all Civils projects including all outsourced services

Duties include:
- Ensures the development of strategic goals, business plans, budgets and resources for the Civil function in accordance with overall strategy and direction.
- Provides direction for the development of adequate policies and processes for the Civil function to maintain efficient operational excellence in order to achieve overall strategic goals.
- Promotes accountable environment with clear and defined employees’ responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities.
- Aligns and updates the Civil function’s strategic goals with overall strategic goals and ensures mechanism of achieving these goals.
- Ensures the implementation of the international Project Management polices, process, and standards (PMI).
- Ensures ongoing and new civil projects are implemented and successfully completed within optimal time and budget.
- Manages the selection of subcontractors/ vendors for construction and materials.
- Ensures that the required technical standards of regulatory, safety, environment, and security are implemented on project sites.
- Directs all construction elements and provides required guidance to ensure optimum productivity levels throughout the project lifecycle (Initiate, Planning, Execution, Controlling and Closing)
- Directs the preparation of detailed cost estimates for all stages of construction project execution.
- Directs construction project inventory and the purchase of materials, and process field purchase orders as needed.
- Ensures projects requirements are available according to the approved project plan
- Oversees project(s) progress, and provides professional advice and assistance to construction project managers when needed.
- Oversees the arrangement of manpower mobilizations and demobilizations in coordination with project managers.
- Oversees the development of plans for optimum manpower and equipment’s utilization throughout the function projects.

Requirements

- You will be degree educated and have a minimum of 15 years’ in a similar role, you will have proven Civils project experience in the Middle East.
- You will be fluent in English, Spoken & Written.
