Overview

(GOTS&PD) is looking to hire a Corrosion Engineer to be responsible for providing technical support to operating facilities, projects, technology deployment, and talent development of new corrosion engineers.

You will conducts special studies and analyses in a specialized corrosion control field, such as Corrosion Management program CMP, Risk Based Inspection RBI, cathodic protection, or materials selection. Provides specialized technical corrosion control and monitoring services and consultation .

Key Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:
- Provide expert advice and assistance to design, construction, operations and maintenance personnel on matters pertaining to a corrosion control area.
- Perform special studies in corrosion control. Evaluates data as to scope, impact and long-range cost effectiveness on existing and planned facilities, and coordinates the preparation of reports.
- Provide evaluation data on capabilities of corrosion control vendors and contractors.
- Review operations and monitoring activities associated with corrosion control facilities to identify needed system modifications or procedural changes.
- Keeps current with significant developments in corrosion control, with emphasis on incumbent's area of specialty, through technical literature, participation in professional and industry society meetings, etc.
- You will work as a subject matter expert in designing, selecting material grades and identifying & analyzing material failure mechanism and provide engineered solutions correlating with process parameters & equipment specification within our gas processing plants including piping, fittings & vessels, PWHT.
- Conduct in house technical training for Inspection Engineers & Technicians for inspection requirements awareness.
- Deploying the inspection & corrosion state of art technologies that could enhance our inspection activities.
- Developing the Corrosion Control Documents (CCDs) for GOTS&PD Operating Units.
- Asses track, document and rank performance of facilities in the field of inspection and corrosion and meet audits & compliances & insurance requirements with respect to applicable international standards & Codes.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

- As a successful candidate you should have a BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or Corrosion Science with minimum of (15) years of experience in processing in Oil/Gas Industry, material science and metrology, different NDT technology and their applications and knowledge in engineering aspect of welding.
- You should have strong knowledge and applicable certifications of the international standards and codes NACE, ASME, API and ASTM especially inspection and corrosion standards such as API-571, API-580, API-570 and API-510.
- And also you should hold a valid NACE Specialist Certification or NACE Senior Corrosion Technologist or combination of NACE Corrosion Technologist, API-571 and NACE CP level II.
