Overview

Khursaniyah is looking to hire a Corrosion Engineer to join the plant. KGP current processing capacity is 3 billion standard cubic feet per day (BSCFD) of associated and non-associated gas. The plant products are NGL, Sales Gas and Liquid sulfur.

The engineer will implement, support and continually improve KGP inspection corrosion management programs and provide consolatory advice in materials ensuring cost effective material selection and corrosion mitigation strategies, which will ensure mechanical integrity of the materials, applied on all KGP assets including equipment and piping through their life cycle.

He will perform the regular review and update on the plants units Corrosion Control Documents (CCD's) reflecting the any change that resulted from plant changes either in plant operation or facility modifications. Corrosion loops drawings shall be updated by adding emerging damage mechanisms or removing damage mechanisms because of plant upgrades. Adjustments and modifications in inspection practices and programs shall be reflected based on such modifications.

He will conduct the evergreening RBI studies of the plant unit, including revising the inventory grouping limits and reflect that on related drawings. He need to track generated RBI recommendations and coordinate their implementations.

He will review existing inspection programs reports to monitor the corrosion activities in the plant. He shall revise existing programs to optimize them based on inspection programs findings. He will also need to lead investigation of equipment and failures due to corrosion issues and identify root causes and provide recommendations to prevent their recurrence.

Key Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:

Implement corrosion management program and on stream monitoring
Conduct risk based inspection based on API-580 methodology.
Review and approve recommend solutions for coating failures and cathodic protection.
Participate in HAZOP review sessions and ensure that all issues are addressed.
Manage water treatment program and recommend solutions to overcome challenges
Review design packages and validate materials selection based on current code and standards
Validate corrosion controls, corrosion loops and corrosion damage mechanisms frequently.
Assess feed composition changes and approve recommend solution to assure assets integrity.
Develop scope and description of technology items, and lead field implementation.
Develop and transfer knowledge about use of coating, CP, corrosion inhibitors and other corrosion controls and best practices.
Extract data and draw conclusions from Corrosion Monitoring Technologies.
Troubleshoot corrosion problems and address their root causes.
Review design packages for plant changes and modifications to address corrosion and material challenges.
Explore new materials development and deploy advanced material application to address plant corrosion challenges.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate he should have a BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or Corrosion Science with minimum of (15) years of experience in processing in Oil/Gas Industry, material science and metrology, different NDT technology and their applications and knowledge in engineering aspect of welding.

He should have working experience in running asset integrity programs in petroleum or petrochemical operating facility. He needs to have the ability to look at asset integrity programs in holistic way and drive their performance. He should be able have good analytical skills to look deeper than collected data and resolve problem in early stages.

He shall have very good communication skills to connect with team members from different disciplines. Since corrosion challenges resolutions will normally involves multidisciplinary team, working in teams is a vital skills candidates must have.

He shall be able to write clear technical reports to address any technical issue. He shall also have excellent presentation skills to share knowledge with others and present business cases to managements to take decisions.

He should have strong knowledge of the international standards and codes NACE, ASME, API and ASTM especially inspection and corrosion standards such as API-571, API-579, API-580, API-570 and API-510. And He should hold a valid NACE Specialist Certification or NACE Senior Corrosion Technologist or combination of NACE Corrosion Technologist, API-571 and NACE CP level II.
