Cost Control Engineer

Job description / Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Control Engineer to join our team in the oil and gas industry in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring that all costs remain within the approved budget. The Cost Control Engineer will play a critical role in supporting project managers and stakeholders in making informed financial decisions.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain cost control procedures and systems for the project
- Monitor project budgets and track expenses throughout the project lifecycle
- Prepare and present cost reports, forecasts, and variance analysis to project stakeholders
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and propose recommendations to optimize project costs
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure accurate cost tracking
- Participate in project meetings and provide insights on cost control and financial performance

- Master's degree in Engineering, Finance, or related field
- Proven work experience as a Cost Control Engineer in the oil and gas industry
- Solid understanding of cost control procedures, financial principles, and project management
- Proficiency in cost management software and MS Office, particularly advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Certification in project management or cost control (e.g., PMP, CCP) is a plus
