Employment: Full Time

ROLE:

Reporting into the Engineering Director, the Depot Lead/manager and their team will be responsible for providing design review and assistance to construction oversight of depot functions and associated facilities during the construction phase of a major Saudi rail project.

The project team is seeking a senior level, experienced Depot Lead Engineer/manager to review and provide support on depots design issues as well as coordinating their various design elements.

The Depot Lead will be experienced with metro depots and will have in-depth knowledge of the elements to be included within the depot and an understanding of depot operations. The chosen candidate must be able to interface with numerous stakeholders, contractors, project engineering teams, and effectively communicate at all levels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

• Leading the Depot Design Team (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Railway equipment Engineers)

• Leading the review of detailed technical requirement documents and drawings for all building, workshop and major pieces of equipment to be installed within the depot, to ensure that the design of the depots and their associated facilities meets the contractual and maintenance requirements

• Participating in design review meetings with the contractors and the client

• Leading regular reviews with the Design Team on the progress of the design and any engineering changes within the scope of the contract

• Maintaining records of overruns in the design review process and the cause of each delay

• Ensuring that depot design provides for a safe working environment and that OHSE and Human Factors are included within every aspect of the design

• Validating the whole of life maintenance schedule and evaluating the impact of design changes on maintenance activities schedule. Assessing how this will translate in to daily depot operations

• Ensuring that the design of the depot and the installation of major equipment such as train wash, HVAC, fume extraction, wheel lathes and maintenance/inspection facilities interface effectively with the vehicles through the successful integration of the Mechanical and Electrical engineering teams

• Ensuring that the Depot Design is able to meet the maintenance requirements for the duration of the concession period associated with issues such as planned and unplanned maintenance activities as well as vehicle and component overhauls

Requirements

Preferred candidate:

Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering BSc minimum
Relevant Work Experience– 10 years minimum
Experienced in working with a multi-disciplinary team
Fluent in English
Available to work full-time in Riyadh, KSA.
