Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Seeking a Design Engineering Manager for a Manufacturing Company whom develops and produces products not limited to transport and waste markets.

Position Responsibilities:
· Lead design work of teams for components, assemblies, and systems with an emphasis of standardization.
· Manage work and documentation planning.
· Integrate input improvements into existing design(s).
· Assume ownership of systems development and test processes.
· Participation in the support of manufacturing activities as required on the shop floor.
· Understanding of structural design and calculations of a wide variety
· Must be proficient in Solidworks
· Must have experience with Equipment Design including the development and documentation of Industrial products for transportation (i.e vacuum tankers, supersuckers, combination tankers, etc.)
· Preferred experience in steel fabrication
· Ability to work quickly and manage multiple priorities
· Ability to be flexible with task interruptions

Requirements

Qualifications:
· Formal education: minimum of B.S. in Engineering
· 5+ years of experience in product development and management preferred, including:

• Leading technical teams with solid management skills
• A proven track record of delivering high quality engineered solutions on time, on schedule with quality and operations as the focused emphasis
• Industrial Automotive/Mobile Equipment system experience

· Knowledge of drafting practices, CAD, engineering analysis, and design layouts
· Basic knowledge of vehicle/automotive technology.
· Exposure to, and interest in, industrial equipment (materials handling, automotive, waste handling or similar) is highly desirable.
· Attention to Quality: follow established procedures and be attentive to details to ensure accuracy in design, testing and documentation while following applicable industry standards
· Solid management history, including schedule development, resource planning and risk planning.
