The project:

This is an opportunity to work on a large new build airport, that will set a global benchmark for aviation experience and aims to attract 120 million passengers by 2030 in Saudi Arabia.

Job Summary:

• The Design Management Lead is responsible for ensuring that the Project(s), or Programme design management related activities undertaken by the design management team, are in accordance with the requirements of the Project Execution Plan, PMIS, or other governing framework as applicable, and approved by the Project Director.
• The Design Director is responsible for overall Design Management strategy and leadership, ensuring that delivery of core function aligns to Mace Way and Core Values, that target KPI’s are achieved, and ensuring that personal health, safety, and wellbeing, and that of the team is maintained.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Design Management strategy across the Project, or Programme, and PD approval thereof.
• Agreement of KPIs with PD and ensuring performance of the group in connection with.
• Ensuring strategic delivery of the core function aligns to Mace Way and Core Values.
• Project or programme wide Design management oversight and interaction/coordination with construction, commercial, programme, procurement, and control functions.
• Support development of technologies/systems to enhance design performance.
• Manage resource and deployment of DM staff.
• Ensure ongoing knowledge and upskilling of the team.
• Directs and guides junior members of staff to develop their careers within Mace.
• Ensure succession planning for allocated ADM/DM/SDM is in place.
• Ensuring Design Management is consistent across projects, or phases.
• Ensuring Design Management function is aligned with other PMC functional targets.
• Advising on Consultant Selection and Appointment.
• Supporting SDMs in evaluation of Consultant Variations and Claims.
• Oversight and participation in key design and technical review workshops.
• Utilizing company resources efficiently to accomplish assigned work.
• Identify and manage design associated risks, mitigation strategies, and/or escalation.
• Identifying need for additional resource and recommendation
• Identifying opportunities for further staff deployment, or additional Mace specialist resource that can add value and increase Mace in project.

Requirements

You’ll need to have:

• Membership professional body (RIBA,MICE,CIBSE,CIOB, RICS,CIAT).
