WSP Middle East are looking for a Design Manager with experience on marine projects to join a PMC mixed-use development in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. You will have significant experience with design and design management of marine works such as dredging/reclamation, quay walls, revetments and breakwaters, marinas, piers, floating structures, and man-made beaches.

Your new role, what's involved?
* Provide expert advice on complex matters requiring international expertise/standards.
* Lead the delivery of large projects while providing specialist technical expertise during design and construction phases.
* Manage key client relationships in the public & private sector, as well as other internal Business Units.
* Plan resources and make sure that they are available to deliver the services needed
* Build effective teams and provide support to staff assigned to the project.
* Manage and mentor a team to whom you provide leadership on technical matters.
* Manage all aspects of concept and detail design related to the marina and luxury pier.
* Provide effective design management input, review, consultation and advise to the client, to ensure the full intent of these iconic landmarks are realised.
* Ability to effectively manage and review all design submissions through the RIBA Stages, providing review comment and managing the change process.
* Work as part of a multi-discipline development team, to ensure all design efforts are well coordinated and integrated.
* Ensure all designs are aligned to achieving stated and best local, international practices from an Environmental & Sustainability perspective.
* Support the Design Director and Project Director as required for the overall programme delivery.
* Review and report on design programmes from external consultants.
* Ensure possible value engineering ideas are identified to cut costs / time and provide recommendations. Manage and approve all proposed VE options.

Requirements

We'd love to hear from you if you have:
* Degree qualification in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or similar relevant discipline.
* 15 years' experience in major mixed-use projects, preferably in KSA itself or the GCC region, with experience working on marine projects (particularly a marina or luxury pier).
* Excellent leadership skills and ability to delegate and coordinate responsibilities.
* Strong design management skills.
* Strong team player with the ability to balance conflicting priorities and take timely decisions.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
