Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Develop gain acceptance to and manage the implementation of the IT strategy for the organization in line with the overall vision & mission statement and ensure that these strategies are implemented in compliance with policies & procedures developed based on international standards and best practices.
• Contribute as a member of the senior management team to the overall management and direction of the company, to ensure that clear short, medium and longer term goals and objectives are established, communicated and achieved to optimise business results and returns to shareholders.
• Develop and gain agreement to the strategy for the IT function in the context of the overall business strategy, communicate and oversee implementation of this to ensure strategic alignment of the function with the business.
• Direct the preparation of the functional budgets and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon
• Direct the development and oversee the implementation of operational policies covering all areas IT so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers.
• Provide service to individual functions/departments/ Operating units within the organization on their IT needs & periodically follow up on the status of their IT projects implementation to enable their timely implementation
• Lead the provision of organizational IT support to the ERP systems in order to help centralize the financial systems across the organisation and to enhance transparency & efficiency across multiple systems
• Manage the IT Infrastructure (Communications / Internet connectivity / e-mail system / Video Conference / Audio Conference / Wireless connectivity / Access Control system / Telephone system) and IT System (Hardware and Software (Applications)) to maintain maximum up-time possible
• Manage any new investment in infrastructure including network switches, fibre cables, radio etc in order to ensure that the investments are well deployed and the implementation is in line with schedule
• Direct the implementation of risk mitigation strategies that would reduce Organization’s overall risk pertaining to Information Technology systems and processes
• Support purchased and internally developed applications in order to ensure that the business needs are duly met and are well supported by IT support
• Manage the warehouse management system to minimize downtime and ensure that inventory is well managed and costs are kept at minimum
• Manage the deployment of various servers for to ensure that various departments and functions are well supported and operation uptime is maximized
• Co-source with external vendors / IT support services where required to ensure that IT procedures follow best practices and for the purpose of providing optimal IT solutions to the organization at a reasonable overall cost
• Lead and direct the management of change through continuous improvement of IT systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, changes in international standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans.
• Provide leadership and direction and ensure all company safety, health and environment objectives are met or exceeded in coordination with the HSE Department. Provide leadership and direction to ensure compliance with environment and health standards in coordination with HSE Department
• Direct the recruitment and development of senior functional staff and motivate personnel to ensure that all functions are staffed with individuals of the required calibre, and that there is adequate succession planning and provision for future demands.

Requirements

• Bachelor / University degree in Computer Science (CS) or Information Technology (IT)
• 15 years relevant experience in a relevant sector including at least 7 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities
