Electrical Supervisor - High Rise Construction

Job description / Role

General Duties:
• Responsible to the appropriate Supervisor, works within his area of responsibility to organize and supervise the work for his staff. Also coordinates activities with administrators, supervisors, foreman, technicians, other workers, and performs work within his trade certification when required.
• Works independently, and when required, travels from job site to job site.
• Reviews work requests to determine personnel requirements, informs purchase requests to supervisors for necessary materials, ensures tools and equipment are available, and establishes a schedule to complete the work within acceptable time and quality parameters.
• Estimates labour, materials and other requirements for completion of specific jobs and provides written estimates when required.
• Reviews with his staff, on an individual or departmental basis, those policies, procedures, regulations, and terms of the collective agreement relative to the day-to-day operation of his department.
• Initiates discussions on a regular basis concerning work related issues such as team building, conflicts and work performances, with a view to seeking solutions.
• Researches information and develops new procedures in conjunction with his supervisor to improve the workings of his department.
• Responds effectively to enquiries from contractors, technicians etc.
• Maintains a working inventory of parts, supplies or equipment for his area of responsibility.
• Procures goods and services from vendors when required using petty cash, standing purchase orders, etc. (If required)
• Obtains permits when required for high hazard works as per site safety requirements
• Performs other assigned duties related to the above.

Salary:
SAR 8,000 to 10,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

Qualifications:
• Diploma in electrical engineering from reputed Government recognized institute.

Experience:
• 12-15 Years’ years of specific experience estimating, supervising
• And coordinating in Electrical systems like Medium voltage 13.8 kV, Step down transformers, Low voltage 0.38 kV switchgears, containment, bus bars, wires and cables, ELV systems (as detailed in further below) Information and communication technology (ICT) system and related sub systems. Knowledge of maintenance and operations is also preferred.
• Must have hands on knowledge of installation of systems during construction, ability to read and interpret drawings is very important.
• Well aware of Electrical systems as listed & its related tasks.
• Ability to maintain healthy relations in a working environment.
• Ability to supervise technicians and labours on site to carry out different technical tasks related to installation, testing and commissioning of various Electrical systems.

The candidate must possess a demonstrated knowledge of:
• The standards, practices, methods, materials, tools and equipment used for the construction, repair and maintenance of buildings, grounds or equipment in his Electrical department.
• Supervise cable installations and tests
• Supervise cable and wire dressing in SMDB’s, DB’s.
• Supervise cable and services tagging.
• Should be able to adapt to local working standards like Saudi building code, SASO etc.

Basic Salary: SAR 8,000 - SAR 10,000 (based on experience)
• Housing allowance for family per month = [ (3 x Basic Salary) / 12 ] SAR
• Transportation allowance per month = 1000 SAR
