Engineering Coordinator - Saudi Only

Provide supervision, direction and leadership in the Engineering department in adherence to Kempinski Al Othman Hotel performance and quality standards. To carry out all related work within the confines of the hotel, or any other items as directed.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise and review the work of staff responsible for the remodeling, maintenance and repair of hotel's buildings.
- Assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; implement approved policies and procedures.
- Establish schedules and method for providing remodeling and maintenance services; identify resource needs; review needs with appropriate supervisory staff; implement recommendations; organize, implement and direct remodeling and maintenance schedules.
- Supervise and participate in the estimating, design, material acquisition, scheduling, coordination and completion of remodeling and maintenance project; prepare plan sketches when required.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of all on-site personnel including engineering staff, contractors and temporary employees; ensure that projects adhere to the hotel's policies and all other applicable standards and laws.
- Supervise the maintenance of time, material and equipment use records.
- Ensure assigned employees on the job site adhere to safe work practices.
- Prepare various specifications for projects as required; read and interpret blueprints; meet with contractors to obtain and collect bids.
- Inspect city facilities for remodeling and maintenance needs.
- Participate in the selection of staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to develop short and long term goals, monitor accomplishments, establish performance requirements and personal development targets and provide coaching for performance improvement and development.
- Prepare reports of activities as required.
- Perform inspection of tools, vehicles and equipment, schedule repair and maintenance as required.
- Manage plan and design projects.
- Stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the maintenance, construction and remodeling fields.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
- Maintain records and write reports.
- Respond to public inquires in a courteous manner, provide information within the area of assignment, resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
- Estimate time, materials and equipment required for jobs assigned, requisition materials as required.
- Inspect and maintain fire sprinkler systems.
- Inspect and maintain fire alarm systems.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
- The ability to assist in providing electrical repair and maintenance to motors, starters, breakers and associated equipment throughout the entire building.
- The ability to assist in socket repair and replacement.
- The ability to assist in installing electrical wiring for renovations, electrical outlet additions motors and associated equipment.
- The ability to assist in providing electrical set-ups for exhibits and conventions including maintaining electrical equipment for exhibits.
- The ability to assist in providing preventative maintenance of all electrical/ mechanical / plumbing equipment and updating of appropriate logs.
- The ability to clean all stations in Engineering and maintain net and organized department.
- The ability to respond to all guest complaints regarding to the maintenance of their room, public area & all property area in a timely manner.
- The ability to assist in performing preventative maintenance in guestrooms, public areas and all hotel areas.
- The ability to repair an assortment of items brought to the shop by other departments.
- The ability to supervise cleaning grease traps, filters and drains and other equipment/areas as necessary.
- The ability to assemble desks, shelving, cabinets, etc. as assigned.
- The ability to assist shifts engineers on major shut downs for repairs.
- The ability to maintain logs for all work performed while on duty within department and those in other departments as they apply to engineering repairs.
- The ability to assist in installing or relocating any additional or existing equipment when necessary.
- The ability to take meter reading, record temperatures, record temperatures, record into PM charts/logs, and pressure in heating and cooling plant.
- The ability to respond to work orders or room inspection reports submitted by department heads.
- The ability to respond to all emergency conditions such as fires, power failures, etc.
- The ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of Kempinski Hotels.
- The ability to maintain a good working relationship with other employees, providing instruction and encouragement as needed.
- The ability to ensure a clean, neat and organized work area.

Requirements

Desired Skills & Qualifications

- Minimum one year of relevant experience
- Interior Designer Degree holder
- AutoCad certification is required
- Ability to work and communicate to multinational environment
- Local language excellent oral and written
- English good oral and written
