We are looking to recruit an Environmental Specialist to join our ongoing project in Makkah in Saudi Arabia.

The key objectives of the role will be to:
• Develop/Contribute programme-wide environmental and sustainability processes, procedures, guidance notes, plans, policies, forms, etc. as needed.
• Develop Environment and Sustainability Management plan which guides the Consultants and Contractors
• Review the E&S plans prepared by the Consultants and Contractors
• Review environmental and sustainability reports/submissions in design and construction, including, but not limited to, Environmental Permit Applications (EPAs), Ground Investigations (GIs) for geo-technical and geo-environmental scope of works, Terms of Reference and Scope of Works (ToR & SoW), Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), Framework Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs), Work Orders, Tender Documents, etc.
• Ensure that all environmental and sustainability permitting requirements are achieved during design and construction phases
• Assess environmental and sustainability performance at area and project specific levels
• Assist in the enforcement of the company’s and programme’s environmental and sustainability policies and systems
• Chair/Conduct/Attend environmental and sustainability and other relevant/associated meetings/workshops, as necessary.
• Coordinate with all necessary internal and external stakeholders to support the successful delivery of projects as appropriate within the environmental and sustainability scope.

Requirements

In order to be shortlisted for the role you will have the following:
• Bachelor degree in in Environmental or relevant discipline
• Experience of working in consultancy or as environmental specialist on large infrastructure projects ;
• Good understanding of a range of technical environmental disciplines;
• Stakeholder and public engagement experience;
