Overview

We are seeking an Estimating Engineer to join the RAK Onshore Infrastructure Projects Department.

The RAK Onshore Infrastructure Projects Department will build major Onshore facilities for a new Industrial Complex in RAS Al-Khair.

The Estimating Engineer primary role is to develop multi-discipline conceptual and definitive estimates for heavy industrial, commercial, and residential capital projects including all cost aspects of engineering, material/equipment, and construction.

Duties and responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:

Prepare multi-discipline conceptual and definitive cost estimates for Capital Projects.

Provide professional expertise in the resolution of estimating problems.

Assist with bid analysis and contract negotiations.

Provide estimate breakdown.

Utilize computer-estimating programs as well as manual methods.

Keep abreast of significant developments in cost estimating by close review of technical literature, contacts with contractors, visits to areas of construction, and attendance at professional and technical meetings.

Requirements

Minimum requirements

As the successful candidate you should hold a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Professional Engineering (PE) registration from a recognized and approved program.

You should have minimum of five years of estimating experience including at least three years devoted to petro-chemical, refinery, pipeline, or power generation projects.

You must be familiar with construction practices, materials, equipment.

You should be capable of development and evaluation of multi-discipline conceptual and definitive project estimates utilizing manual and/or computer systems with independent expertise in at least two of four principal disciplines.
