On 26 September 2018, The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques has made an announcement to transform Al Meeqat Hospital in Al Madinah Al Munawwarah into a specialized hospital, integrated with King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (General Organization). The construction of Al Meeqat Hospital is still ongoing and current review and assessment for the design of the facility is being done for the repurposing in accordance to the KFSH&RC standards.

When completed and fully operational, Al Meeqat Hospital will provide high-end healthcare services to its patients. Al Meeqat Hospital has a 300-bed capacity.

This project contributes to the Organization's goal to expand its services throughout the Kingdom and gives emphasis to the reputation of KFSH&RC as a leading national medical institution and its ability to deliver the highest standards of providing medical care.

Job Title: Executive Director of Nursing Affairs
Department: Nursing Affairs

Roles And Responsibilities
- Responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of Nursing Affairs at KFSH&RC (Gen. Org.) in accordance with the American Nurses Association and Nursing Administration Scope & Standards of Practice.
- S/he will be a member of the Hospital's Executive Team and will work in collaboration with Chief Executive Director.
- S/he will be responsible for directing and implementing administrative policy and operational activities within Nursing Affairs and representing KFSH&RC (Gen. Org.) at both national international events.
- S/he will act as an ambassador for the Hospital at all times.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Creates a vision for Nursing Affairs and creates an environment to facilitate achievement of vision.
- Develops and implements a strategic plan for nursing in keeping with the Hospital's overall strategy, mission, resource allocation and operational policies.
- Liaises with nursing staff at all levels to ensure effective communication and motivation of staff across the Nursing Affairs. Provide counsel and guidance to nursing staff as indicated. Creates a calibre that facilitates a continuous improvement paradigm to achieve professional practice and goals.
- Supports the professional development of nurses throughout the organization and identifies development needs across Nursing Affairs. Plans training programs in collaboration with the Nursing Education and Training & Development Departments to address identified needs. Develop Nursing Management competencies and skills, and promotes education and training to support this effort.
- Collaborates with the medical leadership, other Hospital departments and staff to promote the most effective and efficient patient/family care within the available nursing resources from outpatient visit to admission through discharge.
- Plans operational and capital budgeting in collaboration with medical and financial colleagues. Accountable for the Nursing Affairs' budget and the delegation of responsibility to the nursing management team for the day-to-day use of resources. Monitors budgetary activity for Nursing Affairs as a whole and ensure that a balance between quality nursing care and budget requirements is maintained.
- Ensures continuous performance improvement across Nursing Affairs and supports the development of multidisciplinary collaborative practice that improves the quality, appropriateness and efficiency of patient care across the organization.
- Fosters a partnership approach to amalgamation. Gains from scale and scope of knowledge skills and resources. Directs and evaluates alignment of human and capital resources to achieve strategic priorities.
- Establishes and monitors policies and procedures that support high standards of nursing practice that are in keeping with the overall Hospital policy and those required by external regulators and accreditors.
- Ensures the retention of high quality nursing staff, and the recruitment of well-qualified and experienced staff.
- Ensures the expansion of management information systems across the Nursing Affairs in keeping with the Hospital's strategic plan.
- Ensures quality nursing educational programs, clinical experiences, and research across the Nursing , Affairs.
- Participates in the promotion and maintenance of effective communication and teamwork. Treats colleagues, patients, and visitors with dignity and respect at all times.
- Upholds the organizational values at all times.
- Participates in Hospital-wide Performance Improvement activities.
- Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
Educations
- Master's degree in Nursing or Hospital Administration or related discipline required.

Experience Required
- Twelve (12) years of administrative experience at a senior nursing level in a large complex hospital or health care institution.
