Employment: Full Time

About the Role
The post holder will be responsible for finance operations within the assigned business unit, ensuring accurate accounting of all financial and asset transactions.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that accounting practices meet the highest standard as expected by GEMS financial auditors and compliance with external auditors.

In addition, for new school projects, the post holder will be responsible for the finance system, process, and policy integration in alignment with GEMS standards and expectations.

Main Responsibilities
- Receive, receipt, and account for all school tuition/fee payments; and accurately report this information to parents, administrators, and GEMS SSC (School Support Office) where applicable.
- Alert school administration of default tuition payments and unpaid accounts.
- Maintain accurate records and reconciliation of all accounts to ensure compliance with internal and external audit processes.
- Prepare and distribute monthly personnel payroll and hold for request all vendor service payments.
- Ensure the GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are followed at all times.
- Perform other duties as requested by direct & dotted reporting line managers/supervisors.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required. Ongoing collaboration and reporting to the SSC Finance team to ensure effective integration of all finance matters in the school.
- Responsible for the implementation of the school finance system integration (DAX, Phoenix etc) in collaboration with SSC IT and SSC Finance.
- Manage finance process and policy integration
- Responsible for reconciling and testing the accuracy of migrated finance data

Requirements

Expected Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree or High School
- Advanced training in accounting preferred

Expected Experience:
- At least 5 years experience in a similar position within a service-oriented industry
- Experience in the Education industry preferred

Job-Specific Knowledge & Skills:
- Fluent English communication skills, written and oral.
- Arabic language skills will be an advantage
- Computer data entry skills and experience with formatting summary reports.
- Relevant financial work experience.
