Overview

We are seeking a Harbor Pilots to join our Terminal Pilotage Ops Div.

The Terminal Pilotage Ops Div is responsible for providing a professional pilotage service vessel traffic management system and support services at all Saudi Aramco Oil Ports and Terminals for the purpose of expediting the seaborne export and import of crude oils and hydrocarbon-based products in a safe, efficient, cost effective and environmentally sound manner in accordance with shipping industry's best practices.

Your primary role is to berths/unberths all vessels without restriction at North Pier and unberths vessels at Sea Island up to 350,000 DWT without restriction. You are administratively responsible to the Chief Pilot but functionally responsible to the senior Harbor Pilot.

Key Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:

• Make safety inspections of all vessels prior to berthing or loading.
• Direct deep loaded vessels to a safe anchorage and lines up same for the departure channel upon ship's Master request.
• Investigate ship/pier related oil pollution incidents and prepares reports.
• Maintain permanent official log of vessels handled. Develops and maintains record of selected characteristics of all vessels handled.
• Maintain radio communications with vessels in the operating area; advises vessels of ballast condition required, berthing and unberthing time and other information to expedite ship movement and help with optimum scheduling.
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed by Senior Harbor Pilot Supervision.
• Give direct commands regarding steering orders, engine speed and use of anchors; directs tugs and/or mooring launches via radio assigned to berthing/unberthing operation.
• Direct Pier personnel or mooring launches in the order and sequence of putting out and taking in mooring lines.

Requirements

Minimum requirements
• As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor's of Science degree from a recognized and approved Maritime Studies College and have five-year experience, including at least four in [Harbor Pilot or seagoing experience.
• Or you will hold High National Diploma from a recognized and approved Maritime Studies College and have six years' experience, including at least four in Harbor Pilot or seagoing experience.
• You will have for Maritime Studies discipline is required for HND & Bachelor graduates.
• You must have Tanker Safety Course-Basic training in Oil/Chem/Gas.
• Helicopter and Underwater Escape Training Course is also necessary.
