Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

We are looking for Head of Building Design based in Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities:


- Overall for the regional financial and service delivery of the Building Design Business Unit which includes Concept Design,

- Masterplanning, Architectural, Structural and MEP design teams

- Overall utilization of Building Design Business Unit projects

- PSRs performance (EBIT, Cash) of all Building Design Business Unit to the required technical standards

- Performance to approved budgets and programmes on projects budget

- Financial performance of the Building Design Business Unit in line with Work team

- Winning new work for the Business Unit in collaboration with the Win

- Staff development and recruitment to address the expected pipeline, whilst maintaining compliance with Saudisation

- Individual client utilization >50% & Compliance with Saudisation


Team management:


- Operational responsibility for the deployment of the Building Design talent pool across projects, drawing upon resources from

- RoMEA and globally to ensure target utilization.

- Line management responsibility and professional development for the Building Design leadership team

- Overall responsibility for the recruitment and retention of staff in the Building Design business unit match planned pipeline, market demand and the evolution of Building

- Manage size and composition of the Building Design team to best

- Ensure compliance with Saudisation requirements for team.

- Design services based on client needs


Project delivery:


- Responsible for PSR performance of all Building Design Business Unit client commissions (EBIT, Cash) in collaboration with relevant PDs and PMs

- Responsible for delivery to agreed budgets and programmes of all Building Design projects in collaboration with relevant PDs and PMs

- Responsible for quality delivery and client satisfaction in line with client requirements, local standards and QSSE guidelines

- Ongoing development and ownership of service delivery toolkits and responsibility for project delivery in line with best practice. Close collaboration with KSA, UAE and RoMEA team leaders to maximise consistency in ME service delivery

- Provide thought leadership to bring innovation to our design solutions

- Embrace the use of the GDC to maximise efficiencies in service delivery

- Develop and implement an improved method of design delivery utilising a Technical Professional Office approach, maximising the use of shared resource across the ME business

- Close collaboration with Technology Director and Digital Delivery

- Manager on the roll-out of digital tools and capabilities to deliver a better and more effective client service


Winning work:


- Close collaboration with Business Development Director on building a pipeline of Building Design opportunities with target client accounts in the Middle East

- Direct engagement with clients and the market on the changing needs for Building Design services and how we can best meet these via rethinking our services and how they are delivered

- Key point of contact with clients in terms of service delivery performance on projects with a view to securing repeat business

- Drive thought leadership and marketing of our Building Design services and innovations on how can support our clients, including entering for local and international awards and presenting at relevant conferences


Requirements:


- Relevant university degree, preferably in engineering or architecture.

- Relevant industry accreditation (eg. MICE or RIBA)

- 15 years of experience leading Building Design businesses

- Strong people leader with a track record of managing a diverse resource pool

- Track record of delivering strong financial results across a portfolio of projects and delivering innovative solutions

- Track record of winning new revenue in the Building Design market potential partners

- Strong market network and Middle East market profile with clients and

- Experience and the use of technology and digital tools to deliver building design commissions
