Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

PURPOSE: To assist in identifying and promoting the Company in the target market with High Net Worth Clients (upscale segment) / institutional investors through marketing its Shari’a based financial / investment products in all asset classes for maximum market penetration and revenue generation. This includes active involvement in all activities relating to marketing, placing and client relationships as well as soliciting feedback on the funds and deals that the Company takes out into the market.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop short and long-term departmental goals, policies and procedures; ensure timely implementation for effective operations.
• Interact with key strategic and potential High Net Worth and Corporate Clients in the target market to introduce the Company and create awareness about its products and services.
• Identify client needs as per their financial requirements; present to and convert investors for various Shari’a based financial products.
• Work closely with all Lines of Businesses in evaluating various products / placements deals and services in terms of time, value for the client and need.
• Initiate client interactions along with the product technical team and participate in presenting sales pitches.
• Participate actively in all campaign flow for all approved and agreed funds placements and ensure that it reaches all prospective investors in the target market.
• Monitor target markets for investment placement on a continual basis to identify potential opportunities for the Company’s products and services.
• Maintain a database of investors’ profiles based on their investment preference and risk appetite.
• Manage effective relationships with investors across all asset classes so as to promptly and efficiently resolve service issues on a timely basis.
• Provide periodic reporting to Deputy CEO on the performance of various investment placement deals for review.
• Coordinate closely with the Risk, Compliance, Anti Money Laundering and Legal to assess risks associated with the client and the project nature and effectively address the identified risks through resolution or escalation to the Deputy CEO for further action.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Business Administration and/or Finance or equivalent.
• A minimum of 12 - 15 years of relevant work experience, at least 3 of which in business development within Financial Services industry.
• Relevant work experience and industry exposure, preferably in the Islamic Investment Banking sector, Capital Market or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge base and technical skills in business development.
• Strong networking and relationship management skills.
• Sound knowledge of Islamic Banking and Shari’a based financial products.
• Good ability to effectively negotiate and close deals.
• Sound understanding of the local markets and current trends in related area.
