Head of Procurement

Job description / Role

An excellent opportunity is available with one of the local banks in Saudi Arabia for a Head of Procurement. This role is responsible for planning, leading and managing the development and execution of the Procurement strategy across the bank; including contracts review, bidding process, vendor selection and final agreements to ensure that procurement process is progressing in a continuous cost-effective manner.

Job Contents:

- Develops short and long-term procurement strategies and follow up on the implementation to ensure alignment with the requirements of the Bank
- Directs overall purchasing processes and drive standards, automation and outsourcing where applicable to gain efficiency throughout the Bank
- Develops short and long-term contracting strategies and follow up on the implementation to ensure alignment with the requirements of the Bank
- Directs and manage external agreements through the use of standardized supplier contracts and ensures all terms and conditions are acceptable as per the Bank policy and that bank's best interest are upheld and protected

Requirements

Desired profile:

The incumbent will have at least 12 - 15 years relevant experience in the procurement/supply chain field including at least 4 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities.

Strong understanding and awareness in procurement, supply chain processes within banking products and services, financial services.

The incumbent will have a Bachelors degree in commercially oriented discipline such as finance, business administration or equivalent.
