Employment: Full Time

Head of Tax / Regional Tax Manager - Saudi Arabia

An expert partner to the ME finance leadership and the Firm’s Corporate Tax Team (CTT) on regional statutory compliance's including indirect taxes and managing relationships with tax authorities across the GCC, Egypt and Pakistan.

VAT/Sales tax
- Implementation of VAT/sales tax in the ME region including cost assessment, changes required in systems, etc.
- Administering the payment of VAT/sales tax in the region
- Managing monthly/ annual compliances for the ME offices
- Reply to the notices and manage assessments carried out by the statutory auditors
- Working with overseas General Finance & Accounting team (GFA) to complete periodic VAT/sales tax reconciliations.

Corporate Tax
- Follow up on Zakat certificate with the DZIT (tax authorities) in Saudi Arabia
- Applying for the No objection letters to DZIT and follow up for NOL certificates
- Making corporate tax payments for ME offices
- Getting tax returns signed and submitted with tax authorities of ME on timely basis
- Being the first point of contact for interaction with tax authorities and working closely with CTT on tax assessments/audits.
- Building relationship with the tax officials in the region
- Following up with clients on retention moneys and client/ bank confirmations required for statutory audit
- Working with CTT to ensure that all requirements for corporate tax return preparation and filing are met

Statutory books and audit
- Ensure maintaining books of accounts as per requirements of the local laws (example – Arabic documents) are in place
- Assisting in the statutory audit process for the ME offices along with CTT. Withholding tax returns
- Administering the payment of withholding taxes on employees/ vendor payments in Middle East offices
- Ensure deductions from the employees/ vendor payments are made accurately and as per the local tax laws applicable to Middle East offices
- Ensuring the withholding tax returns are filed on a timely basis

Requirements

- Minimum 5-6 years tax and accounting experience at Big 4 Firms in the region.
- Have experience in a similar role and environment or/and experience in supporting management and leadership by providing insight, analysis on tax positions and financial statements preparation for a Multi-National Corporation.
- Excellent verbal and written language skills in English and Arabic
- Solid working knowledge of MS Office programs (Excel, Access & PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of Oracle or similar ERP accounting software
- Education: University degree, preferably in finance/accounting or business administration combined with sound knowledge in finance & accounting
