Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Housekeeping attendant’s responsibilities include cleaning and preparing the rooms for new arrivals, refreshing rooms for in-house guests and making sure the rooms are fully-stocked. He/She is also responsible for keeping the back-of-the house in an excellent condition, cleaning the offices and the public areas, ensuring the whole hotel is inviting.

Main Tasks:
• Cleans designated areas including, but not limited to restrooms, public areas, hallways, stairwells, elevators, offices and banquet/meeting/conference rooms
• Performs deep cleaning tasks and special projects (for example: mattress flipping, furniture moves, etc.), as needed
• Cleans the assigned hotel guest rooms according to standards
• Changes bed linen and make beds
• Replaces used towels
• Folds any clothing left in room and places it in appropriate spot
• At night time, he/she closes drapes, reduces lighting, turn music on softly and prepares bed
• Empties carts of soiled linens, removing and disposing of trash, insects and debris and empties ashtrays
• Sweeps and mops marble floors, hallways and other wood areas
• Washes windows of the rooms and other hotel areas
• Vacuums and shampoos carpets
• Dusts furniture
• Polishes furniture and fixtures
• Replenishes bath care amenities products (e.g. soap, shampoo, cotton balls, lotion)
• Reports any technical issues and maintenance needs for guest rooms
• Removes Rooms service trays, dishes and carts to service landings
• Assists Guests with any request related to hotel services
• Reports issues to management. Follows up until resolved
• Helps guests retrieve lost items
• Follows hotel security guidelines
• Greets guests in a friendly manner
• Performs other duties such as shoeshine service
• Ensures the proper arrangement and cleanliness of the store and his working area, informing housekeeping when necessary
• Assists other hotel teams in times of rush
• Cooperates with coworkers in respect and professionalism to ensure smooth operation

Requirements

Work Skills Requirements:
• Demonstrates an ability to communicate in English, speaking, writing and reading
• Must be able to work under pressure, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary guest service

Physical Requirements:
• Endurance for standing and mobility throughout the shift
• Ability to bend, carry and lift furniture, push and pull trolleys and cleaning machines, climb ladders for cleaning surfaces. Handle usage of chemicals
• Ability to endure warm or cold temperatures when working outside the building during the shift
• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone, face-to-face and in writing
• Ability to work different night and day shifts

Duty hours per day:
• Eight hours, Schedule may vary to include day & night

Working days:
• 6 days per week. Schedule may vary according to job needs
