Job description / Role
Aramco energizes the world economy.
Aramco occupies a unique position in the global energy industry. We are the world's largest producer of hydrocarbons (oil and gas), with the lowest upstream carbon intensity of any major producer.
With our significant investment in technology and infrastructure, we strive to maximize the value of the energy we produce for the world along with a commitment to enhance Aramco's value to society.
Headquartered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and with offices around the world, we combine market discipline with a generations' spanning view of the future, born of our nine decades experience as responsible stewards of the Kingdom's vast hydrocarbon resources. This responsibility has driven us to deliver significant societal and economic benefits to not just the Kingdom, but also to a vast number of communities, economies, and countries that rely on the vital and reliable energy that we supply.
We are one of the most profitable companies in the world, as well as amongst the top five global companies by market capitalization.
We are seeking skilled press officers, writers and public relations professionals to join Aramco's International Media Relations (IMR) Unit.
The unit functions as the Company's primary point of contact for journalists around the world, communicating its strategy and business activities in an open, honest, and transparent manner. The unit performs a range of media-related tasks involving global print, online and broadcast channels.
Operating on the front lines of media relations, the unit is entrusted with safeguarding and building the reputation of one of the world's leading energy and chemicals companies.
Build, maintain, and actively manage relationships with journalists and media outlets, including Tier 1 international titles, trade and special-interest publications (covering print, online and broadcast channels).
Provide functional support and advice to senior leaders on strategic media issues.
Contribute to crisis communication and response management.
Support the Company's quarterly results announcements, including media calls and interviews.
Prepare media plans, communications briefings and Q&A documents for executives.
Co-ordinate media visits, interviews and background briefings.
Develop corporate announcements and press releases.
Provide on-site media relations support to executives at international events, conferences and during company activities.
Respond effectively to media enquiries in a timely manner.
Develop materials that effectively communicate Aramco's strategic objectives to global media.
Identify potential opportunities to engage with media on high-value projects.
Support story generation activities, including proactive article and thought leadership development.
Foster positive internal relationships across the company, to support the International Media Relations Unit's key objectives.
Education: Bachelor's degree, preferably in journalism, communications or a related field. An advanced degree is preferred.
Languages: English (native / fluent), with full professional written and verbal proficiency.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years' experience in journalism, media relations or corporate communications, gained in either an agency or in-house corporate setting - ideally with previous experience of the energy, oil and gas sectors.
Previous experience as spokesperson is preferred, while a proven track record in crisis communications is also an advantage.
Our high-performing employees are drawn by the challenging and rewarding professional, technical and industrial opportunities we offer, and are remunerated accordingly.
At Aramco, our people work on truly world-scale projects, supported by investment in capital and technology that is second to none. And because, as a global energy company, we are faced with addressing some of the world's biggest technical, logistical and environmental challenges, we invest heavily in talent development.
We have a proud history of educating and training our workforce over many decades. Employees at all levels are encouraged to improve their sector-specific knowledge and competencies through our workforce development programs - one of the largest in the world.
