IT Manager

KBR-AMCDE is a joint venture entity formed in Dec. 2011 in response to Saudi Aramco's GES+ initiative, to provide high quality multi discipline engineering services including conceptual design, detailed design, and project management services within the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The entity was established with a vision to expand its services to cover all the Saudi Hydrocarbon sector then to expand to other sectors within Saudi Arabia and beyond as opportunities arise in the region and as capacity is built. In line with the original vision, KBR-AMCDE is participating in in-Kingdom / out-of-Kingdom projects for Saudi Aramco and other blue chip clients.
Role
Working within the KBR Corporate IT team and reporting to the EMEA Service Delivery manager the role supports the KBR-AMCDE business and other KBR entities in Saudi Arabia in driving technology transformation whilst delivering value in planning and delivering operational IT services.
The candidate will bring a combination of subject matter expertise and leadership skills to manage and develop a strong service delivery team. Commercial acumen in understanding contractual requirements and implementing cost effective solutions to fulfil such requirements and ongoing support is a must.
With a strong background in IT service management using the ITIL v4 framework, ServiceNow platform, project management, and a proven track record of delivering IT services in a fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will lead and manage the Local IT Service Delivery Team in Al Khobar office.
The candidate will also be responsible for the successful implementation of corporate IT projects within KBR-AMCDE where necessary whilst delivering value to the business. Satisfactory delivery of client. IT services within budget is a key focus area within this role.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of IT operations professionals in the delivery of services within the Al Khobar offices.
- Direct and guide IT delivery in the Al Khobar / Saudi Arabia
- Develop, lead, and manage IT projects to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Validate project requirements leading to KBR project execution.
- Ensure that all IT services meet or exceed documented service levels requested by the business
- Maintain excellent working relationships with clients, customers, stakeholders, peers, Business Liaison Directors, Business Partners, and Operational Managers.
- Manage local suppliers and conduct service review meetings.
- Analyse data and metrics to measure service performance to make data driven decisions.
- Take active role in overall service management governance.
- Provide input and support IT strategy that directly relates to IT provision for Al Khobar/Saudi Arabia /ME.
- Act as focal point for Escalation of Issues that are not in process, taking responsibility for resolution and realignment.
- Support local Business IT in representing KBR IT with clients.
- Support BLD/ITBP in understanding and communicating non-standard requirements.
- Contribute to budget and resource management to ensure that IT services are delivered effectively and efficiently.
- Carry out proposals and contracts appraisals and develop competitive IT estimates as well as proposal write-up.
- Develop plans and procedures in alignment with client as well as KBR requirements.
- Identify areas for improvement within IT processes and implement automation solutions to improve productivity and/or quality.
Requirements:
Required Skills:
- Candidate would typically have over 15 years of experience of which at least 5 years would be in a leadership role within an IT function.
- Degree qualified, preferably in an engineering or IT discipline.
- Have good understanding of IT systems including general technical knowledge of engineering systems, networking/server technologies, portal technologies, database concepts etc.
- Strong customer service, organizational and communication skills and be able to present complex technical matters effectively to internal as well as external stakeholders.
- Experience in leading and running large scale projects.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work and adapt in a dynamic environment and recognize and action priority issues.
- Self-starter with the ability to effectively work with minimal supervision.
- Must be self-motivated and willing to learn.
- Understanding of ITIL service management principles.
- Ability to manage multiple requests effectively.
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow.
- Understanding of IT service management processes and frameworks.
- Ability to build and manage relationships in a matrixed environment.
- Good appreciation of in-Kingdom IT infrastructure challenges and opportunities.
- Preferred Qualifications
- ITIL Foundation is advantageous.
- Any experience of modern project management is advantageous.
Desired Skills
- Previous experience working with Saudi and Middle East based national oil companies and familiarity with their standards/requirements.
- Previous experience managing internal and external audits for compliance with Quality Management System and cybersecurity requirements e.g. CCC+
