Description
Scope of Service: Haemodialysis
HOURS OF OPERATION:
The Unit provides acute and chronic hemodialysis twelve hours per day, six days per week. Two on-call Staff Nurse I are available to cover acute cases when the Units are closed. Vascular Access Intervention Suite specific:
The Unit provides vascular intervention 10 hours per day, 5 days per week. An on-call staff is available to cover urgent cases when the theater is closed.
KFSH&RC Hemodialysis (HD) Units are hospital-based units providing acute hemodialysis, chronic hemodialysis, Hemofiltration, Hemodiafiltration and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) for adult and pediatric patients. The patients are categorized as having acute renal failure or chronic renal disease and many have multiple medical diagnoses. Care is provided to patients of all ages from neonatal up. Their treatment regimen require close monitoring and prompt nursing intervention when necessary, to ensure a safe and comfortable treatment.
