Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Marketing and Strategic Operations
- Formulate, direct and coordinate marketing activities and policies to promote products and services, working with advertising and promotion managers
- Participate with Brand/ Product Managers and/or the Division Manager in setting up the yearly plan suitable for the market and as per the brands guidelines
- Participate with the Division manager in strategic meeting with suppliers, regional teams…to negotiate commercial conditions (margin, animations, exclusivity…)
- Negotiate targets, locations and brand support with key suppliers
- Recommend marketing mix for existing shops and new openings and ensure smooth implementation once approved
- Oversee all promotions and advertisements activities to ensure alignment with set objectives
- Identify, develop, and evaluate marketing strategy, based on knowledge of establishment objectives, market characteristics, and cost and mark-up factors
- Monitor the market trends, identify new target markets and determine potential positioning
- Compile lists describing product or service offerings.

Financials
- Assist the Division Manager in defining the yearly strategic plan for the network and in preparing the yearly budgets and forecasted sales
- Manage the yearly marketing budget and monitor all expenses are within the budget limit
- Develop pricing strategies, balancing firm objectives and customer satisfaction.
- Prudently manage the organization's resources within budget guidelines
- Provide prompt, thorough, and accurate information to keep management appropriately informed of the organization’s financial position
- Initiate market research studies, benchmarks and surveys and analyze their findings
- Use sales forecasting and strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of products, lines, or services, analyzing business developments and monitoring market trends
- Follow up on Receivables and Payments.

Reporting
- Follow up on sales reports and use information to take action when necessary
- Record, monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities and provides suggested action plans
- Provide The Division manager with quantitative and qualitative reports using data from market studies.

General Operations
- Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, logistics, marketing and merchandizing with regards to new openings, closing or renovation operations
- Maintain smooth relationship with the suppliers and business partners.

Man Management
- Make recommendations on hiring, termination, promotion and discipline as required
- Manage, engage and guide the team reporting to him/her
- Conduct the appraisal and assessment of own team members
- Set the objectives and budgets for own team members and ensure their accomplishment
- Responsible for coaching and training own team members, and formalise and follow up on each team member’s Individual Development Plan, in coordination with the employee and HR
- Ensure identification and proper development and recognition of Talents within his/her unit.

- Identifies and evaluates opportunities, conducts market segmentation analysis, target market selection and uses marketing mix planning
- Identifies costs, risks and benefits associated with the marketing strategies

The ability to use computer software and applications
- Coaches colleagues in the use of software
- Has an expert knowledge of core computer software packages and applications used

The ability to communicate and deliver thoughts and ideas effectively, using a variety of tools and mediums
- Easily adapts content and style to his or her audience
- Transitions skillfully within the presentation, using an appropriate blend of significant details and anecdotal discourse
- Articulately responds to unrehearsed comments and questions

The ability to demonstrate and apply professional/ technical expertise/ knowledge for the role or position

Expert knowledge and skill in Category Management:
- Possesses expert knowledge of advanced concepts in primary discipline, a broad knowledge of related disciplines, as well as an in-depth knowledge of relevant organizational policies and procedures
- Applies knowledge to support the division objectives and to further the mandate of the organization
- Applies a broad knowledge of best management practices; defines objectives and work flows, positions reporting relationships in such a way as to obtain optimum effectiveness for the division
- Keeps abreast of new developments in area of professional discipline and job knowledge and seeks to develop him/herself personally
- Demonstrates expert knowledge of the current admin guidelines, HR and project management tools and manages the use of these regularly in work assignments

Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of:
- Formulating, directing and coordinating marketing activities and policies
- Identifying, developing, and evaluating marketing strategy
- Forecasting and tracking marketing trends, analyzing collected data
- Conduct research on consumer opinions and marketing strategies
- Principles of marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
