Our Client, is a large diversified international contracting and construction company, established more 50 years ago in Europe

In the early 1970`s the company further expanded operations in Saudi Arabia, UAE, North Africa and Mediterranean area.

Their involvement in many projects consisting of major ports and other important marine works have contributed to the regions development

Our client has projects currently in Saudi Arabia and are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Head to join their operations and lead a talented team in the fabrication department

Key responsibilities of the role are as follows:
• Manage the daily operations with regards to design and fabrication works relating to:
• Steel structures, tanks & vessels, marine steel structures, offshore equipment and facilities, pipe laying facilities & devices, steel structures for plant equipment and installations, construction & equipment devices, mechanical & hydraulic devices, steel shutters & scaffold systems for casting precast, ancillary steel structures
• Take charge of the engineering department which consists of fabrication engineers, design engineers, AutoCad operators, document controllers and planners
• Supervise the design and generation of concepts, fabrication, erection, installation and detailed drawings
• Supervise the preparation of budget, work programs and billing / debiting of executed works to the client
• Oversee the project control and technical management of the department and in line with the systems, procedures and standards of the company, clients and international standards
• Provide and prepare tender works related to steel fabrication and relevant works as requested from the regional tender office
• Coordinate with QA / QC and HSE team
• Implement the company`s IMS (Integrated Management System)
• Monitor work progress with clients
• Prepare and design concepts for steel structures, shutter / steel formworks, mechanisms, devices and facilities
• Perform and submit structural design calculations and analysis to the Clients in accordance to their specifications and accepted international codes and standards by mathematical analysis & STAAD III software design program

Requirements

• Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 8 years post graduate experience
• Experience within the same industry is essential
• Possess excellent communication skills in English
• Candidates currently in the GCC are preferred
