Job description / Role
The Successful MEP Manager will be tasked with leading and managing the successful delivery Build Projects in Saudi Arabia and will have the opportunity to further develop their career with this well-established organisation. Reporting to the Project Director as an MEP Manager your role will be to coordinate and control specialist engineering installations and ensure that the work is completed with accordance with the specification and completed programme.
MEP Manager Responsibilities:
Ensure the project is delivered in strict accordance with the company OHSAS 18001 approved Safety Management System recognizing that the works are being undertaken in a ‘live’ environment with full interface with employees and the public
The MEP Manager will monitor, co-ordinate and control the flow of M&E design information to ensure the timely release of information for construction activities.
Ensuring the M&E designers identify hazards and assess risks to health and safety when designing the works.
Ensure all required approvals (statutory, regulatory, client and company) are in place as and when required.
As an MEP Manager you will assist, when required, in the selection and appointment of the M&E consultant designers and design and build sub-contractors (procurement strategy)
Assist in ensuring that the M&E designers produce design development programmes which meet the needs of the contract programme, and review the programmes regularly as required.
Acting in the capacity of MEP Manager you will be tasked with the Development, management and tracking of the Procurement Schedule for the project to ensure all components for the MEP installations have orders placed on time and that deliveries are appropriate to the agreed construction schedule. This function will be undertaken in conjunction with the company commercial department.
Ensure Mechanical & Electrical information released for construction has been reviewed by all interface designers and construction team and amended/approved prior to issue for construction and is in line with the specification/ contract.
Ensure M&E designs and details produced are economic and do not exceed budgeted or estimated cost without good reason and are in conformance with the specified or detailed requirements for quality.
The MEP Managerwill carry out cost checks on M&E design proposals and report serious deviations to senior management immediately.
Ensure the M&E design is validated on completion of the works.
Forming part of the MEP Manager functionality, you will be tasked with Liaising and coordinating daily with the construction management team consisting of Project Manager, Design Manager, Construction Managers, Engineers, Planner, Procurement personnel on a daily basis to ensure MEP works are integrated seamlessly into the construction design and schedule.
Develop, manage and track the MEP Construction schedule which will be integrated into the Master Schedule controlled by the Project Director
Develop and manage the Commissioning and Validation Schedule for the project in consultation with all project stakeholders
Ensure that specialist mechanical and electrical sub-contractors work strictly within company Safety Management System and comply fully with all its requirements.
To ensure that production controls are in place for monitoring, reporting, benchmarking works and improving performance.
Requirements
Engineering Degree with over 15 years’ experience of which 10 years has been spent within an MEP Manager capacity of similar
Candidates must have western education background.
Knowledge of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering in respect of commercial / fit out construction will be advantageous
Knowledge of Building Sector coupled with experience in data centre / pharmaceuticals / commercial / industrial etc.
Previous employment as a M&E Co-ordinator, Building Services Coordinator, M&E Project Manager, Building Services Manager, MEP Manager or Building Services Engineer
Previous Main Contractor and M&E Subcontractor backgrounds required.
Good communication skills.
