Job Mission:
The National Operations Manager supports the General Manager in the execution of tasks by running the various onsite operations and activities to achieve business goals and KPI’s. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the operation, ensuring a safe and productive workplace. Main objectives are to support functions that can deliver products and services to customers in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Job Responsibilities:
• Develops and deliver strategic operations plan with specific emphasis on Warehousing and Transportation divisions.
• Responsible for proper planning, forecasting and coordination of warehousing and logistics resources for the different customers.
• Manages operations; design, implement and continuously improve processes, directly related to providing services to all customers.
• Develops and implement a risk management plan.
• Monitors and review work place practices to ensure compliance with SOPs, OH&S, best practices and provides recommendations for improvement to senior management.
• Develops and manages systems of control to ensure that service levels and operational performance goals are met within prescribed cost, revenue, and profit parameters.
• Executes operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of merchandise, and keeping of warehouse inventory.
• Ensures proper succession in the business.
• Conduct contract/SLA negotiations with new and existing clients and vendors.
• Manages, motivates, develops and leads members of the Warehousing and Transportation Management Team.
• Develops financial budgets for the Division.
• Defines performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors, such as service cost or quality.
• Reviews activity reports, financial statements and other information to ensure financial goals are achieved.
• Establishes and implements departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with board members and staff members as necessary.
• Analyzes inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service
• Determines staffing requirements, and interview, hire and train new employees, or oversee those personnel processes.

Requirements

Education:
Essential: Bachelor degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business Management or related fields.
Preferred: APICS Certification, Six Sigma and Lean Certification

Experience:
• APICS Certification, Six Sigma and Lean Certification are an advantage.
• Must have around 10 – 15 years of relevant experience in the Warehousing/Logistics field.
• Overall supply chain knowledge, with focus on warehousing and transportation.
• Good computer skills, experience in using Warehouse Management Systems (or similar) and preferably ERP systems.
• Financial performance reporting and reviewing.
• Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.
• Experience at presenting complex information to individuals and groups and conveying information effectively.
• Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
• Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
• Ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional working relationships.
• Critical thinking, complex problem solving and good and decision-making capabilities.
