OSS Back Office Engineer (ITNMS, PRS, E9000, OceanStore, NFV, Cloud)

Job description / Role

• Understanding of overall telecom architecture (Wireless, core, Transmission, IP, DWDM etc)
• Good understanding of NMS general architecture (Configuration Management, Fault management, Security Management, Performance Management, Log Management, Backup Management)
• Good understanding of virtualization preferably Huawei virtual solutions
• Good expertise of Linux (general administration, disk/cpu/memory analysis, Linux logs analysis, Linux services administration)

• Good experience in Oracle DB management:
- Making required sql queries
- Insert/modification in tables
- truncate table/create new table
- Oracle DB tablespace utilization analysis and required actions
- Regular DB health check and implement actions required by Vendor support

• Expert level Administration/troubleshooting experience of AcrossPM Performance Management System:
- Activation/deactivation of counters/indicator
- Addition/removal of MO entities
- Dashboard graph management and related troubleshooting
- Report/task management and troubleshooting in case of any issue
- EMS management, addition, removal and troubleshooting
- Daily issue handling of missing stats, parsing/loading, GUI

• Expert level Administration/troubleshooting experience of ITNMS solution:
- Administration and daily check for all ITNMS modules (FM, ITM, ITNM, Cognos]
- ITM: Addition/removal/troubleshooting of servers/databases/URLs , Agent/Agentless client management, customized Situation management
- ITNM: Addition / removal /troubleshooting of IP devices, discovery/snmpwalk management, troubleshooting of related issues
- Cognos Report: Addition/removal of devices/serves in reporting criteria, scheduling specific reports, troubleshooting issues in report/schedule
- FM: Netcool probe administration/troubleshooting, FM DB administration for current/historical events, log analysis and troubleshooting missing alarm/clearance cases, New EMS integration with probe
- Coordination with Huawei GTAC/HQ teams for any requirement/troubleshooting

• Good administration experience preferably in all of the products below:
- Huawei U2000 for access/Core/IP/Transmission network
- Huawei VAS Cloud/I2000 for VAS devices management
- Huawei PRS for Performance Management
- Huawei cloud NFV Infrastructure

• E9000 infrastructure cabinet and blades administration
• OceanStore Storage 5500/1800
• VM management in Huawei cloud

Requirements

• Handle daily requests issues escalated through trouble ticket, work orders, email, phone depending on severity of issue
• Preparing RCA, Validating and maintaining the Known Error Database (KEDB) for recurring issues.
• Comply with and follow Huawei/customer Safety / security rules for network operations and change management
• Backup management for systems and related troubleshooting in case of failure
• Daily complete Health check in all aspects for Application, HW, DB, OS, license etc
• Timely escalation of complex issues to Huawei TAC/GTAC/R&D or related Vendor as required by scenario and coordination/follow up with them for earliest resolution
• Follow periodic Precautions and Rectification alerts issued from Huawei/3rd party product line to resolve SW bugs or implement any workarounds
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
