Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The specified duties of the Precision Measuring Equipment Instructor include:

Conduct Precision Measuring Courses to include, but not limited to the following:

- Theory and principles of metrology to include: electronics, digital electronics, microwave and dimensional theory, measuring methods and practices
- Calibration of metrology standards
- Operation and adjustment of metrology equipment to component level
- Troubleshooting. using standard and specialist tools associated with Metrology Maintenance (METCAL).
- Operation, and maintenance, of specialist test equipment associated with METCAL.
- Liaise as necessary to satisfy Metrology Maintenance (METCAL) requirements.
- Prepare, develop, and update course control documents and teaching material for instructional tasks,
- Prepare, develop, and update examination material for instructional tasks.
- Conduct general technical courses, not restricted to specific Weapon Systems, for current personnel at skill level 5 and above.
- Conduct professional development courses to prepared requirements, e.g. Maintenance Management, On-The-Job Training (OJT), and Management Principles for commissioned and enlisted personnel.
- Provide Qualification Training for newly assigned instructors.
- Complete all relevant documentation concerning student training.
- Perform the duties of testing officer and testing proctor when required.
- Maintain Technical Publications.
- Initiate TPDIR to cover Clients publication deficiencies.
- Proof read and comment on existing and new SOWs and course material.
- Act as Curriculum Specialist when required.

Requirements

- Must be a graduate of a Service or Civilian Technical Training Institute.
- Must have successfully completed a formal Instructional Techniques Course.
- Must have Technical, Academic and Professional Training Procedures.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years recent classroom experience as a Technical Instructor.
- A minimum of 8 years practical experience in equipment service and Maintenance, appropriate to this field.
- Must have sound knowledge of the Documentation Requirements and Procedures associated with Metrology.
- Computer literate, with a fully conversant working knowledge of Microsoft Office; especially MS Word, Excel and Power-Point.
- An ability to combine sympathetic understanding with firmness and tact.
- Should be self motivated and have the ability to motivate students.
- Should have good interpersonal skills and be able to contribute to original thought and innovation.
- A close interest in keeping abreast of modern techniques in the Metrology field.
