Power System Operation and Control Engineer - Senior, Junior

Job description / Role

To be based in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia with regional travel.

Candidates must have at least between 3 and 10 years’ experience in the relevant fields. Fluent in English is a must and knowledge of Arabic a great asset. Both roles will have a very high degree of client /customer interface and individuals must be comfortable working within a consulting environment.

You will also be able to demonstrate experience in project definitions including such aspects and manpower planning, technical scopes and involved in production involve concepts to meet challenge design / technical parameters.

Requirements

• Power Systems Engineering
• 5 to 10 years of experience as electrical engineer specialized in power system studies with a Masters in relevant field
• In charge of executing the power system operations and operational planning studies (electricity generation, transmission, distribution and industrial) using dedicated software:
• System modeling, modeling of its components and controls;
• Steady-state and dynamic simulations;
• System security studies
• You have experience in operations and operational planning of electrical networkS.
• Good knowledge of the characteristics of the different generation power plant (Gas turbine, combined cycle, nuclear, wind, PV, CSP, hydro pump storage PP.)
• Good knowledge of power system studies and methodologies
• Experience in system stability and dynamic studies and good knowledge of power system studies methodologies in general
• Experience of scientific software development is an asset.
• Experience in long term transmission planning of electrical network.
• Good knowledge of power system studies methodologies and of the PSS / E software tool.
• Experience in SCADA / EMS is an asset.
