Alderwood are delighted to be working in partnership with a modern and forward thinking International School in Saudi Arabia. We are seeking 10+ Female Primary Teachers to be based in schools in Dammam, Khobar and Riyadh starting in Sept 2016.

The purpose of this position is to provide professional teaching for primary grades in a classroom setting in order to secure success and improvement, ensure high quality education for all the school's pupils, and to maintain and improve good standards of achievement.

Teaching and Learning:
The Primary Classroom teacher, working under the leadership of the Principals and Head of Primary, and lead teachers, will secure and sustain effective teaching and learning within their assigned class, and will:
- Create and maintain an environment and code of behavior that promotes and secures good teaching, effective learning, high standards of achievement, good behavior, and discipline.
- Work proactively and effectively in collaboration and partnership with learners, other staff, and administration in the best interests of students.
- Create and maintain an effective partnership with parents to support and improve student achievement and personal development.
- Take responsibility for the promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school, raising any concerns following school protocol.

Daily Responsibilities:
- Deliver curriculum as relevant to the age and ability that are assigned.
- Be responsible for the preparation and development of teaching materials, teaching programs, and pastoral arrangements as appropriate.
- Be aware of students' capabilities and their prior knowledge in order to plan teaching and differentiate appropriately to build and demonstrate knowledge, as well as an understanding of how students learn.
- Demonstrate an understanding of and take responsibility for promoting high standards of literacy including the correct use of spoken English.
- Use an appropriate range of observation, assessment, monitoring, and recording strategies as a basis for setting challenging learning objectives for students.
- Give students regular feedback, both orally and through accurate marking, and encourage students to respond to the feedback, reflect on progress, their emerging needs, and to take a responsible and conscientious attitude to their work and study.
- Set homework and plan other out-of-class activities to consolidate and extend the knowledge and understanding students have acquired as appropriate.
- Manage classes effectively, using approaches which are appropriate to student needs in order to inspire, motivate, and challenge students.
- Monitor student behavior, enforce the code of conduct, demonstrate high expectations of behavior, and provide solutions for disciplinary matters as appropriate.
- Carry out break, playground, or other duties as directed to promote the safety and wellbeing of students.
- Provide satisfactory communication with parents to solve issues and answer queries.

Weekly Responsibilities:
- Make accurate and productive use of assessments to secure students' progress.
- Use relevant data to monitor progress, set targets, and plan subsequent lessons.
- Participate in grade level meetings with the assistance of all appropriate staff members to work in collaboration to respond to problem areas and set targets for improvement.
- Inform the Principals and Head of Primary of student achievement, as well as plans for improvement inclusive of benchmarks and targets.
- Assist other staff members and administration in extracurricular academic activities, including those during and after school.
- Cover for absent colleagues under direction of the Principals or Head of Primary.

Monthly Responsibilities:
- Participate in arrangements for examinations and assessments as appropriate.
- Prepare and maintain appropriate records for the tracking and transfer of students.
- Participate in any relevant meetings and professional development opportunities at the school, which relate to students, curriculum, or the organization of the school including pastoral arrangements, assemblies, and parent meetings.
- Communicate and cooperate with relevant external bodies and reviews.
- Participate in formal evaluations and review meetings with other staff members within the primary level.
- Comply with any reasonable request from the Principals or Head of Primary to undertake work of a similar level that is not specified in the job description.

Salary & Runumeration:
- 2 year contract
- Yearly tax-free salary of $38,000 (equivalent to approximately £28,945 dependant on exchange rates)

Requirements

- PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification essential.
- BSc degree in Science related subject
- Fresh graduates will be considered.
