Principal Landscape Architect / Team Leader

Job description / Role

We are looking for a Principal Landscape Architect / Team Leader who will be responsible for the management of daily operations of Jeddah Landscape Team and delivery of Jeddah Landscape projects & prospects.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Any activities as required by the Regional Director.
- Key role in projects as a team leader, project manager, and technical advisor.
- Site survey, appraisal, sketch design & costing of landscape schemes.
- Detailed design & preparation of contract documents & specifications.
- Leads marketing efforts to current clients and is instrumental in identifying and attracting new clients.
- Responsibility for own projects as well as others, controlling expenditure & programming work to match target dates.
- Monitoring the completion of weekly timesheets & necessitates efficient time management.
- Liaison with Clients and other internal departments.
- Leads regular Team meetings & in-house training sessions.
- Representing the Team at meetings & presenting schemes to outside organizations as necessary.
- Manages the preparation & presentation of reports as required.
- To optimise the use of the IT hardware and software available to the Team.
- To participate in a performance review and development meeting and undertake a plan of training where necessary.
- Develop his/her own skills and expertise in a professional manner.
- Compliance with Corporate policies.
- To responding dynamically to changing conditions and to assume new responsibilities to suit the evolving needs of the business.

Requirements

- Bachelors in Landscape Architecture or closely related field required, Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture and Planning, Urban Design, Nature Resource or Architecture preferred
- Experience of a wide variety of project types & work stages
- Proven track record of successfully managing teams, projects of all sizes, and is highly regarded by peers.
- Min 10 Years professional experience
- CMLI, RLA, AILA, or equivalent
- Good oral communication skills
- Good written communication skills
- Ability to develop work programmes, assign tasks, and manage others to deliver within the agreed time frame
- Ability to demonstrate strong, innovative design and graphical skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to develop, deliver, and work within fee targets
- A Client focus
- Ability to learn quickly
- Ability to learn & apply new software applications.
- Ability to prioritise tasks

- Ability and willingness to travel within & outside the Middle East region for the needs of the business.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Adobe CS (InDesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator)
