Employment: Full Time

Cavendish Professionals is currently working with the principal European contractor, who is the lead in one of the main consortium's responsible for the construction of three of the six Metro lines, part of the Metro Project.

Cavendish Professionals is looking for a Procurement Manager to enhance the profitability of the business by managing the procurement of project specific work packages and supplies in accordance with the project specification, the project programme to budget.

Job purpose:
* To provide an ethical and consistent approach to the procurement of goods and services.
* Maintain an in-depth knowledge and be aware of developments in the local, national and international supply markets.
* To create, foster and maintain working relationships with suppliers and sub-contractors, who are committed to producing good quality service, safely and at competitive prices.
* Implement and enforce compliance of all project procurement team activities with the approved business processes and procedures.
* Vendor management, including the selection and appraisal of sub- contractors and suppliers from the preferred vendor data base.
* Provide comprehensive advise and assistance into work winning by assisting other departments in identifying innovative competitive solutions and obtaining competitive tenders.
* To manage, monitor and report on project costs v budgets situations and identification of trends.
* To manage the compilation, issue and execution of sub-contract documentation that is fair and reasonable and gives the required level of contractual protection to the JV
* To evaluate, support and develop talent, and ensure that staff reach their full potential.
* Oversee the day to day operation of the project procurement team.
* Take the lead in subcontractor and supplier negotiations.
* Participate in the departmental planning in terms of costs, resource and performance measurement.
* Ensure all materials and services are procured at competitive prices to budget, in accordance with the project construction programme and in compliance with the project specifications.
* To promote and uphold the corporate vision and values

All suitable applicants should meet the following criteria:

Requirements

* Graduate in MEP engineering / commercial management
* 8 - 12 years post graduate experience with at least 3 years in a similar position in the GCC
