Job description / Role
Project Controls Manager - KAUST, Saudi Arabia
- Serve as a thought-leader and technical expert in cost control, planning/scheduling, and estimating.
- Successfully manage the relationships between the project controls functions - estimating, planning/scheduling, cost control, and risk management - for a project or program.
- Develop and execute the strategy and plan for project control activities that support the overall proposal strategy or project requirements.
- Establish and effectively leverage cross-discipline relationships within the business group to facilitate project controls.
- Understand emerging business/industry trends and the implications of these trends on cost control, planning/scheduling, and estimating.
- Create, implement, and execute proper controls to proactively support, monitor, and communicate budget, actual status, and forecast costs, labor hours and quantities
- With the project team, follow through on the procedures to recover all costs not specifically defined by the contract.
- Prepare and issue cost control analysis narratives including recommendations for corrective actions that are used by project teams to manage the work.
- Supervise the development, approval, and issuance of client and internal status reports that effectively communicate cost status and trends.
- Develop, implement, and monitor earned value systems that accurately measure progress and performance.
- Support procurement by contributing to cost analysis for subcontractor pricing to determine whether pricing is fair-and-reasonable.
Requirements
- A minimum of 10-15 years demonstrated experience in building industry, or similar industry, and has project planning and scheduling experience on large to mega projects. Experience subject areas will include project controls, estimating, planning/scheduling, earned value control, cost control, and change control.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or other related technical field; an additional 4 years of experience may be substituted for degree.
- Ability to demonstrate capability to prepare all levels of project schedules, monitor project progress and ensure projects milestones are met.
- Ability to present project schedule to management and to prepare recovery plans in case of schedule slippage.
- Ability to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of project planning and scheduling practices, calculation methods/software, standards and procedures.
- Experienced Primavera software user.
- A Visa will be required to work in Saudi.
- Accommodation and transport will be provided on site.
- This will be a 6 day working week
