Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Real-time optimization professional to join our team at the Global Manufacturing Excellence (GME).

At GME, we offer top-notch technical support to refineries, NGLF, and petrochemical plants owned by Saudi Aramco and its affiliates worldwide, including facilities in Saudi Arabia.

Your primary role will be to provide expert guidance and support to optimize operations using real-time optimization technologies. You will lead improvement initiatives for all operating departments within our Global Manufacturing Portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:
• Streamline Real-time optimization objectives with corporate objectives and develop program best practices, and monitor KPIs to improve performance.
• Conduct real-time optimizations in refinery operations to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Analyze data from various sources, such as process variables, instrumentation, and control systems, to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Implement advanced process control strategies to optimize refinery operations and maximize the yield of desired products.
• Lead the development of new strategies along with feasibility studies and established business cases.
• Collaborate with other engineers, operators, and vendors to develop and implement real-time optimization solutions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot real-time optimization systems to ensure smooth and reliable operation.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in real-time optimization techniques and technologies to continuously improve refinery operations.
• Provide technical support and training to engineers, operators and other personnel on real-time optimization systems and processes.
• Perform periodic assessments and evaluations to assess the performance and effectiveness of real-time optimization solutions.
• Identify and address potential safety, environmental, and reliability risks associated with real-time optimization processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement long-term improvement plans for refinery operations.
• Conduct benchmarks, business case studies, and pilot and evaluate new advanced process control technologies such as Machine Learning and Al to contribute to yield improvement.
• Lead technical sessions such as the design review, model review, and commissioning.
• Lead pre-and post-performance baseline evaluations.
• Assess plant operation and recommend actions for improvements and system optimization.
• Review standards and General Instructions on behalf of the GME departments and act as leading SME.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• You must hold a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• You should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in Advanced Process Control or Real-time Optimization.
• You must be able to demonstrate expertise in advanced process control solutions, and refinery economics.
• A comprehensive understanding of refinery facilities, feedstock/product movements, margins, giveaways, process yields, and mass and energy balances is essential.
• You should also have familiarity with international standards and specifications for advanced process control process modeling.
• Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills in the field of advanced process solutions is required.
• Strong leadership skills to effectively manage technical discussions and guide technical teams is also essential.
