Description
Palliative Care/Oncology/Hematology/Rheumatology/Chronic ICU (F2-2)

HOURS OF OPERATION
24 hours a day, 7 days a week

• No. of Beds 17
• Nurse to patient ratio: Days - 1:2:3
• Night - 1:3:4
• Nurse to patient ratio:
• Days& Night (Chronic Beds)
• 1:2 OR 1:1 according to the patient needs


SCOPE OF SERVICE
• 15 beds for Palliative both adult and pediatric patients admitted to the Unit who are in need of acute aggressive symptom management, respite and terminal care. In addition, Adult Oncology/ Hematology,Rheumatology patients and 2 chronic beds for patient from ICU.
• Nutritional support (TPN, weights)
• NMT work-u Acute and Chronic Leukemia
• Aplastic Anemia
• Multiple Myeloma
• Sickle Cell Anemia
• Burkitt's Lymphoma
• Thalassemia
• Myelodysplastic Syndrome
• ITP, TTP
• Bone Marrow Donor


FREQUENT PROCEDURES/SERVICES/FUNCTIONS
• Medication delivery including radiation administration and management
• Patient assessment and evaluation (frequent hemodynamic monitoring)
• Patient assessment and evaluation
• Blood products administration
• Management of artificial airways
• Lumber puncture
• Bone Marrow Biopsy and Aspiration
• Skin Biopsy
• Chest tube management
• Oxygen therapy and pulse oximetry
• Central/ peripheral IV line management
• Maintenance of skin integrity
• Pain management including epidural pain management
• Rheumatology management
• Emotional/ Psychosocial support
• Wound care
• Ostomy care
• Family Conferences
• IVIG Management
• Medication delivery including chemotherapy administration and management
• Management of Myelosuppression
• Post Radiation Therapy Care
• 12 lead EKG

Requirements
• Registered Nurse with current nursing license from country of origin
• Two years recent acute care nursing experience
