Scope of Service
- Cardiac Cath Lab - Invasive
Hours Of Operation
- The Cardiac Cath Lab provides a 24-hour service with on-call coverage outside of normal working hours. The on-call shift is assigned on a weekly basis and consists of two SNIs and two CVTs (or 1 CVT and 1 Radiographer).
- The Cardiac Cath Lab is an integral part of the King Faisal Heart Centre. The Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology Laboratories provide diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures for both adult and pediatric outpatients and inpatients. These services employ state of the art technologies and equipment to remain at the forefront of the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease.
- Cardiac catheterization procedures include hemodynamic and angiographic diagnostic studies, endomyocardial biopsies, coronary and other angioplasties, valvuloplasty, placement of intravascular stents, embolization of vascular structures, occlusion of intracardiac defects, direct emergency revascularization of coronary arteries for acute myocardial infarction patients, minor surgical procedures, or more major surgical intervention in conjunction with hybrid procedures.
- The Cardiac Electrophysiology (EP) services function within catheterization laboratories to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services for adult and pediatric inpatients and outpatients with cardiac arrhythmias. These potentially life-threatening conditions are treated through the use of cardioversion, selective tissue destruction (catheter ablation), and the implantation of pacemakers and automatic defibrillators.

- Registered Nurse with current nursing license from country of origin
- Two years recent acute care nursing experience
