A state-of-the art developments such as Cardiac and Liver Center; Emergency Care and Trauma Center continues to be the best Trauma Care Center in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is ranked as the 4th Emergency Care Center outside the United States of America, to provide (PHTLS) Pre-Hospital Trauma and Life Support program. Dental, Ambulatory (Outpatient) Care, Long Term Care/ Rehabilitation, Other adult and pediatric services provided include: Surgical and Medical wards, Oncology. Obstetrics and Gynecology (Labor and Delivery, Oncology, Antenatal and Post Partum wards); Oncology, Neonatal ICU, Operating Rooms, Ambulatory Care Center, Home Health Care Program, VIP Wards, Royal Suite, College of Medicine and Nursing College.
Description
• UNIT NAME: Surgical Ward 38-ortho, prostetic
• Hours of Operation: 24 hours per day / 7 days per week
• PRIMARY PATIENT DIAGNOSES:
• Orthopedic surgery
• Prosthetic surgery
• MVA / Multiple trauma / fractures
• Corrective orthopedic and spinal surgery
• Podiatric surgery
Nursing Procedures
• Pre & Post-Operative Management
• PICC Line Care
• Central Line Care ( & assist with insertion )
• Blood Transfusion
• Drainage Tube Care
• Chest Tube Care ( & assist with insertion )
• NG Tube Insertion and Care
• Trans Parenteral Nutrition
• Ureteric Catheter Insertion
• Stoma Care
• Wound Care
• VAC Dressings
• Suture / staple removal
• Tracheostomy Care
• PCA & Epidural
• Jejunostomy / Peg-Tube Care
• Assist with and care for tractions ( skin / skeletal / hallo)
• Glucometer Check
• Cast care
• Assist with LP, Thoracentesis, Biopsies
• Continuous bladder irrigations
• Insertion of indwelling / supra-pubic / in and out catheters ( assistance )
• ERCP

Requirements
Requirements Education
• Bachelor Degree in Nursing or equivalent from an accredited institution- Essential; or Diploma in Nursing (Western standard for those who graduated before the availability of Bachelor Degree) - Essential
• Current licensure as a professional registered nurse- Essential
• Specific Certification as required in area of assignment - Preferred
Work Experience
• Minimum of 3 (three) years' current clinical nursing experience following licensure/ registration in the country of origin with basic leadership experience - Essential
• Meet additional requirements for specialty areas as defined in the addendum when hired/ transferred to those special units- Essential
