The Hospital is situated in the centre of Riyadh, close to the King Saud University Campus. It is an affiliated teaching hospital for the university medical school and was founded in 1982. It is classified as a general and subspecialty hospital. It is one of the 5 tertiary referral hospitals in Riyadh with over 1000 beds.

The hospital provides both primary and secondary care services for Saudi patients from the Northern Riyadh area. It also provides tertiary care services to all Saudi citizens on referral basis. Medicine including Oncology haematology Surgery, Cardiac Surgery, Pediatrics, Emergency, Ob/ Gyn.

Job Title: Registrar (General)

Job Purpose:
The role holder is responsible for practicing and promoting the highest possible standards of patient care according to clinical privileges and available resources in the assigned specialty or department. Participates in the training and teaching program of King Saud University Medical City.

Key Responsibilities:
• Complies and adheres to the Medical Staff Bylaws, Code of Medical Ethics, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff, departmental and clinical policies, procedures and objectives; continuous quality improvements objectives, safety, environmental and infection control standards; and abide by the rules and regulations of the College of Medicine.
• Provides the highest attainable standard of medical care for his/her patients.
• Carries out full range of inpatient and outpatient clinical duties as assigned by the Chairman of the department in accordance with individually approved clinical privileges.
• Reviews, examines, diagnose, treats and refers patients by conducting interviews, performing physical examination; creating, updating and studying patients' medical records.
• Handles cases independently, while seeks consultation from the consultants and updates them about all cases.
• Collects, records, and maintains patient information and documentation such as med cal history, reports, and examination results.
• Performs and carries out oncall duties within a reasonable period of time as required by the department.
• Protects patients and colleagues by promoting awareness and adhering to infection control policies and standard protocols.
• Mentors and teaches staff, trainees and students for training and education purposes.
• Participates in the improvement of quality of patient care (Quality Management Program, Quality Assessment Improvement Program) as required.
• Participates in and actively supports research projects and activities.
• Deputizes for his/her superior as required and shares the coverage workload in his/her specialty during the absence of equivalent in an assignment.
• Undertakes continuous medical education as required by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and KSUMC to improve clinical expertise and develops professional and technical medical knowledge; Maintains awareness of new medical techniques, medications and medical technologies.
• Participates in the forward planning and implementation for further development of the department and assists in updating protocols and principles of medical practices as appropriate.
• Participates in the Major Disaster Plan of KSUMC, as indicated.
• Performs multiple aspects of scope of practice and adheres to clinical privileges of department as determined by King Saud University Medical City.
• Builds and maintains a harmonious relationship with their patients and establish a strong professional environment with other health care members and other physicians.
• Serves in KSUMC Committees as requested.
• Writes an official delegation of all responsibilities and assignments prior to leave / vacation.
• Performs other job related duties as required.

Qualifications:
• Graduate form a recognized medical school.
• Master Degree or equivalent qualification in the desired speciality.
• Current Professional Registration from Country of Origin.
• Valid License from Saudi Commission for Health Specialties

Years & Nature of Experience:
• Two (2) years specialized professional post qualification experience in the desired specialty in a recognized center or hospital.
