Rotating Equipment Specialist

Job description / Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Rotating Equipment Specialist to join our team at a leading Polymer Manufacturing company in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in maintaining and optimizing rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, turbines, and motors to ensure smooth operations and minimal downtime. The role will involve working closely with the maintenance and operations teams to troubleshoot, repair, and improve the performance of rotating equipment.

Responsibilities:
- Conducting regular inspections and performance assessments of rotating equipment to identify any issues or potential areas for improvement.
- Developing and implementing maintenance strategies to ensure the reliability and efficiency of rotating equipment.
- Collaborating with the maintenance and operations teams to plan and execute scheduled maintenance activities, including overhauls, repairs, and replacements.
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing complex problems related to rotating equipment and providing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Utilizing predictive maintenance tools and techniques, such as vibration analysis and thermography, to detect and address potential equipment failures proactively.
- Evaluating the performance of rotating equipment and recommending modifications or upgrades to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and spare parts inventory to support informed decision-making and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Providing technical expertise and guidance to junior maintenance technicians and engineers to develop their skills and knowledge in rotating equipment maintenance.

Requirements

- Subject Matter Expert - Can provide outstanding Technical Leadership and Strategy
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced certifications in rotating equipment maintenance and reliability will be a plus.
- Proven experience (15+ years) in maintaining and optimizing rotating equipment, preferably in a polymer manufacturing or petrochemical industry.
- In-depth knowledge of various types of rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, and motors, along with their operational principles and maintenance requirements.
- Demonstrated expertise in using advanced maintenance techniques and tools, such as vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis, to assess and improve equipment performance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex equipment issues to develop effective solutions and preventive measures.
- Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and regulations related to the maintenance and operation of rotating equipment, such as API, ISO, and ASME.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and convey technical information clearly and concisely.
- Proven leadership capabilities to mentor and guide junior maintenance professionals and contribute to a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Adaptability and willingness to work in a dynamic industrial setting, including the ability to respond to and resolve equipment emergencies outside regular working hours when necessary.
