Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Minimum Requirements:

- Guides safety advisors in performing special high level assignments requiring extensive technical knowledge.
- Requires working knowledge of Company standards.
- Proven ability to communicate, in technical English, with science and engineering peers, as well as division heads, department heads, and admin. area heads.
- Must be able to produce clear, concise oral and written reports in English..
- Ability to provide staff safety engineering service to identify and appraise loss potential conditions and practices for the assigned function.
- Ability to provide engineering to devise mechanisms or procedures to reduce the degree of hazard.
- Developing loss control methods, procedures and programs to eliminate causative factors associated with specific problems.

Who we're looking for:

- Bachelor Degree in Chemical/Mechanical,Electrical,Fire Tech Engineering from reputable universities with Diploma in Industrial Safety, Master is a plus.
- Minimum 10 year of experience in Loss Prevention/Safety Function, preferably in Oil & Petrochemical or ancillary industry .
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Process Safety Management ,Accident Prevention,Emergency Situation,Fire Prevention,Hazardous Materials.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety engineering practices and economic principles, Qualitative & quantitative Risk
- Assessment, calculation methods, design details, company fire and safety codes, standards and specifications.
- Certification such as Professional Engineer,Certified Safety Professional, Certified Hazardous Material Manager.
- Fluent in English. This is mandatory requirement.
- Strong inter-relationship/ communication skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Plans, schedules, coordinates and provides work guidance for the preparation of studies, designs, reports, correspondence, statistics or other presentations to assure adequacy and conformance to overall objectives in the solution of safety engineering problems.
- Formulates and/or guides the formulation of the basis for engineering studies or projects in any of the areas of safety engineering and assures analysis and evaluation as to scope, effect on existing installation, economic value, long-range planning and budgetary considerations.
- Discusses, coordinates activities, and resolves loss prevention problems; developing factual and objective information so that those who have the ultimate decision making responsibility can make sound decisions concerning the appropriate action to be taken.
- Participates in the necessary measurement and evaluation of the effectiveness of any assigned safety management programs or procedures developed or modifications necessary to achieve optimum results
- Reviews technological developments and equipment to keep up-to-date on the devices and techniques designed to eliminate or minimize hazards and determines whether these developments and techniques have application in the Company.
- Serves as a consultant to purchasing, standards, and methods to incorporate the applicable safety and health requirements in all purchasing and contracting specifications as assigned.
- Develops and promotes on- off-job safety education material and programs for all Company employees Develops and recommends safety standards, codes, and procedures that become part of the operating instructions of the company.

Rabigh Refining & Petrochemical Co. - Petro Rabigh - was founded as a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Sumitomo Chemical in 2005. The plant is valued at US $10 billion and originally produced 18.4 million tons per annum (mtpa) of petroleum-based products and 2.4 mtpa of ethylene and propylene-based derivatives.

Petro Rabigh II is an expansion project valued at US $8.4 billion - 25% funded by the public and the remainder equally funded by Saudi Aramco and Sumitomo Chemical. Petro Rabigh II is scheduled to be in full production by 4th Quarter 2017 and will produce a wide range of new products.
