Job Purpose

Compliance Counsel will join the Antitrust/Competition regulatory compliance area within the Law Organization's Corporate Compliance Department. In this role, Compliance Counsel will provide ground-floor guidance and knowledge on Global Antitrust/Competition compliance. Compliance Counsel, reporting through the Antitrust/Competition Team Leader, will support the Company's overall compliance objectives; work with the compliance team to develop and support the implementation of comprehensive compliance policies and programs; provide advice and training to Saudi Aramco executives and employees, coordinate compliance efforts among subsidiary companies, and manage resolution of compliance issues.

Specific knowledge of and significant experience with multi-jurisdictional antitrust/competition regulations is required, along with broad knowledge and experience in matters relating to traditional compliance offices. Special focus will be given to candidates who have significant experience with U.K. and/or U.S. listed companies.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Advising the Company on all aspects of the antitrust/competition laws and regulations of the United States, European Union, Asia Pacific region and other applicable jurisdictions;
- Counseling and training Company business groups/organizations with respect to antitrust/
competition compliance;
- Working closely with the Antitrust/Competition Team Leader and other corporate colleagues to provide strategic legal support on the antitrust/competition aspects of mergers/acquisitions, joint ventures and other transactions and business initiatives;
- Assisting with the development and implementation of companywide policies, procedures and training protocols for compliance with antitrust/competition laws;
- Liaising with and providing support to related functions within the Corporate Compliance Department, including the Investigations/Audit coordinator and Subsidiary/Joint Venture coordinator functions;
- As needed, coordinating with external counsel and overseeing company strategy for handling antitrust/competition-related inquiries and/or regulatory, judicial, or quasi-judicial proceedings;
- Regularly briefing the Chief Compliance Officer on antitrust/competition compliance;
- Supporting the Law Organization as to compliance law issues. Compliance Counsel must demonstrate sound judgment and unwavering ethics.

Requirements

Education & Experience Requirements

Currently licensed, admitted to practice, and in good standing with a state bar association in the United States or its equivalent in Canada or Europe.
- Graduated from an accredited law school;
- Pragmatic, business-oriented, approach to challenges and competing priorities and deadlines;
- Demonstrated ability to engage business line leaders to drive implementation of new procedures and legal requirements in a timely manner;
- Capable of international travel; and,
- Sound judgment and unwavering ethics.
