Employment: Full Time

We are currently looking for a Senior Planning Manager to form part of our Project Management Consultant (PMC) project team, based on a large defence and telecoms project in Riyadh. The main objective of the PMC is to implement and manage the overall Development Programme, which includes telecom & infrastructure enhancement works. The project is expected to last for 24 months.

The planning manager is responsible for short and long range project planning and scheduling functions, supervising assigned professional, technical, and clerical personnel, including department staff and outside consultants, assigning work, organising and directing the timely completion of complex reports, other written materials, and oral reports for dissemination to project management team, client, project parties and external agencies, and coordinates activities with all packages, other divisions, and departments.

Responsibilities:
• Interfacing on a daily basis with the main contractor sub contractors and internal management.
• Reporting on and assisting the contractor on the integrity of all schedules.
• Maintaining the progress measurement systems by management.
• Reviewing for compliance all reports prepared by the contractor.
• Carrying out studies into scheduling, manning and material flow as needed.
• Setting and monitoring the tasks within the client’s service organisation.
• Attending offsite meetings as requested by the client.
• Reviewing schedules for slippage of key dates.
• Assisting in the defence / approval of any claim for time extension or major change to the schedule.
• Approving the monthly contractor reports and stated progress.
• Ensuring that each planner runs his or her section to the highest professional standards, that all information is current, and that every member of the team is receiving the information he or she needs to fulfil their responsibilities.
• Developing and maintaining the project master schedules.
• Overview of consultant or contractor schedule reviews.
• Schedule claims analysis.
• Establishing and maintaining consistent and adequate administration procedures, in their field. These procedures will be followed across the project by the respective planners working under the construction managers.
• Providing information, technical support and guidance for the planners working under the Project Director.

Requirements

• Must have a engineering degree from the relevant field (Bachelor Degree of Engineering)
• Possess 15 years of total experience and at least 5 years’ experience in the Middle East, preferably Saudi Arabia;
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Independent worker who is able to work well with minimal supervision.
• Possess good project background and proven English language technical writing ability and skills.
• Strong experience in PCM of major projects;
• Preferably with experience of Defence, Telecom and/or working in a Project Management office;

• Western Educated, native english speaker - first language.
