Job Purpose

Successful candidate will serve as the Company's foremost expert in Downstream strategy, and provides insight and recommendations to the Downstream Finance, Strategy & Planning function, the Downstream President, and other members of Downstream Management.

The incumbent will independently initiate research on wide variety of topics relevant to the Company's competitive advantage in the Downstream business, and will prepare research and analyses as required by Downstream executive management, the Downstream Investment & Strategy Committee, or other Corporate Committees. This will include analysis of developments in technology, geopolitics, sustainability and other relevant regulations, Saudi Arabia's government plans, and the Downstream industry in general.

Additionally, the incumbent will participate in the formulation and maintenance of the overarching Downstream strategy, as well as in the management of Downstream strategy execution, among other ways through collaborating in the formulation of strategies for the Downstream businesses, translating the strategies into investment plans for capital planning purposes, as well into business plans for overall resource planning purposes, and KPI monitoring.

The role requires the building and maintaining of strong relationship with subject matter experts across the Company, as well from think tanks and other industry advisory bodies, in order to keep abreast of key developments in the Downstream business globally, as well as other arenas that could impact the Saudi Aramco Downstream's competitive performance. Furthermore, the role requires outstanding analytical and storytelling skills, as well as change management experience. Previous experience in the fields of Carbon Management and ESG reporting will considered a plus.

Responsibilities

- Serves as the Company's foremost expert in Downstream strategy.
- Acts as the "Corporate Advisor" for Downstream business related matters, and provides insight to Downstream Finance, Strategy & Planning function, the Downstream President, and other members of Downstream Management.
- Prepares research and analyses for consumption by Downstream executive management, the Downstream Investment & Strategy Committee, or other Corporate Committees.
- Collaborates in a group of strategists responsible for articulating the overall Downstream strategy for the Company, as well as the formulation of the outlook scenarios.
- Collaborates in a group of strategists and planners responsible for development of the Downstream longer-term strategic plans, including capital/resource allocation plans.
- Builds strong relationship with subject matter experts across the Company, as well from think tanks and other industry advisory bodies, in order to keep abreast of key developments in the Downstream business globally, as well as other arenas that could impact the Saudi Aramco Downstream's competitive performance. This includes analysis of developments in technology, geopolitics, sustainability and other relevant regulations, Saudi Arabia's government plans, and the Downstream industry in general.
- Independently initiates research on wide-ranging topics that look into long-term scenarios that might impact the Company's competitive advantage in the Downstream business. Prepares research and special studies and analyses as required, for the Strategic Council and other Corporate Committees.
- Leads, and/or collaborates in, strategic projects to execute decisions resulting from strategic analyses.

Requirements

Education & Experience Requirements

- Master's degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Financial Management or related fields.
- Incumbent will have steadily advanced his professional competence in his areas of expertise through personal study, relevant and expanding work experiences, seminars, professional contacts and extension courses.
- This role requires at least 15 years of experience in a combination of refining, chemicals, trading and retail marketing business, with an international integrated Downstream company, or global energy think tank/consulting firm. Of which at least 5 years were in strategy formulation, scenario planning, and/or strategic planning. Excellent English communication and storytelling skills are required, written and oral, as well as change management experience.
